Yep, both pregnancies. It sure as hell isn’t comfortable, but I was late with both kids and wanted them out! In the grand scheme of things, it’s not a big deal. Checking for dialation is just as bad (but I have a funny shaped cervix, or so the docs said, so maybe it’s just me!)

I had two. Did nothing to speed things up so likely will skip next time. Babe will come when they want. I was 40+10

Had it done in all of my pregnancies. Never worked for me, but worth a shot

Had mine stripped for my first pregnancy and it honestly hurt like hell for me. But it worked - had baby the next day.

As others have said it hurts, but I was 40 weeks and five days and got one and the baby came in 48 hours 🤷‍♀️

This post came up in another group I'm in. Do you think language such as "special education" is ableist? Does it sound better to say "inclusive education"? Does the language used really matter?

Would love perspective from any MBB people who are or were in similar shoes: Was somehow admitted to the GSB and am trying to figure out whether it makes sense to pursue firm sponsorship. Interested in working in big tech and/or joining a startup, which means some option like Product Management (I studied CS in undergrad) will be permanently off the table if I return to the firm. Would coming back to the firm and exiting as an EM have any value other than saving me a lot of debt?

Hi Fishes,
I had a technical discussion for HCL on 3rd Oct. It's been more than a week. I still haven't received a status on that interview. I have also received a "Resume shortlisted" mail from their careers app after a week.
Does it mean I'm selected? There's no intimation of the status at all. The HR don't reply on mails/calls.
Can anybody advise on this of they been through the same.

I made it the final round "panel" interviews with Amazon for a hardware engineering role. Anyone got any tips or experiences with Amazon interviews for a HW-oriented role?

It's 5 hours total, first two rounds are with managers. What I've done in the past is give as many examples as I could for HW solutions that I worked on highlighting the tech skills. Wondering if I can do more?

Best way to fire a nanny? I hate to do this because she’s so nice, but we are just going in a different direction for the kids. I’m going to reduce my caseload (which includes a pay cut) so I can be home more. I’m currently working out the details with my firm but everything will likely be in place by January 2022. How much notice is appropriate to give? Does anyone have experience with this that can lend some advice?

Has anyone here ever gotten a liquid facelift? I’ve never gotten anything before so I’m curious whether this is too aggressive to start with. If you got one, what did it cost? How much upkeep?

Does anyone take day dates with their spouse/partner? By the time I get to bed, even on the weekends, I’m spent. I wonder if it would be more enjoyable to spend that time together during the day. We both work incredibly hard and are successful, but honestly I’m more the YOLO type and he probably would find it ridiculous to take this time off work. Has anyone found some enjoyment/benefit to spending time with your spouse like this?

What’s your biggest goal?

As a working mom it feels like setting goals outside of work is challenging. I find myself not meeting personal goals then revisiting them and tweaking them. I am curious what goals you’ve set for yourself personal or professional?

Hi Moms, just had baby #2 and we want to upgrade our family car from Toyota Rav4 to a 3-row luxury SUV that's nice looking inside and outside, reliable and has decent cargo space too. My husband doesn't like the exterior of Grand Wagoner. We are considering the Grand Cherokee, Cadillac Escalade or Lincoln Navigator. But I have read terrible reviews about Escalade. Folks seem to like GMC Yukon Denali but I'm worried it'll be too big for me to drive. Appreciate recommendations / thoughts. Thanks!

Anyone have tips on actually “stopping the grind”? I’m in my second trimester of a high risk pregnancy and on busy clients until I’m due. (Senior Associate). Told my mgr and HR that I am expecting, but am still having to work until 2 am. Not getting enough sleep isn’t good my doctor said. How do I communicate this with my mgr? If I don’t stay up until al hours of the night, I won’t be able to get all my allocation done.. I’m stuck.

How do you guys keep your house clean with toddlers and have time to work full time, work out, cook, play with toddlers, take them to activities, etc? I've never been a super tidy person but I really do enjoy a clean home and try but I have the hardest time keeping up. I did at one time have a housekeeper which helped but we can't afford it at the moment. Just doesn't feel like there's enough hours in the day to get it all done.

I’m a FTM returning to work in mid-August since being on maternity leave since the end of February. I can’t wait to go back to work (I have mom guilt about daycare but that’s another story). I’m going back to my project which was was very demanding/stressful so I’m having a little anxiety about returning to that specific project. I would love any tips/advice for setting boundaries and being able to balance work with parenting. I’ve already blocked off my calendar for daycare dropoff & pickups.

Hi

I am pregnant with my 2nd and my job is very demanding. First trimester was bad for me with my first pregnancy and I took 2 months unpaid personal leave.
I can't afford that now and cannot risk my job. Not in public accounting anymore. I work in SEC reporting at a pharmaceutical company.

I am so thankful to be working from home for sure. I am just really dreaded to turn on my computer everyday with this hell of a morning sickness.

If you have been in similar situation. What worked for you?

For moms with more than 1 child: what did you do for on call care for your oldest when you went into labor with your second child? Our family is 2-3 hours away so we are trying to gather a list of closer options until family can arrive. We will ask some friends, but feel we need a longer list of options in case someone falls through or we can’t get in touch in the middle of the night.

Has anyone had success traveling with a 4 month old? We are debating traveling for thanksgiving this year (5 hour car ride, could be longer with traffic) and would be staying at a hotel. Lots of family will be there who want to meet him for the first time. Is 4 months a dangerous time to disrupt a routine and sleep training?

For those of you with kids in daycare, does it make more sense to have the daycare close to home or close to work? Why?
