I wish. 80+ hour weeks leaving little time/energy to even turn on game consoles.

Yep. Beat BOTW yesterday

Just started the Final Fantasy VII remake. Pretty good so far and definitely beats looking at polygons

That’s between me and the fictional character I’ve had a crush on for 20 years, thank you very much. (Elegant. We’re all adults here.)

For me gaming “like the old days” involves lots of quarters.

Yup. Just finished Final Fantasy X, now continuing with its sequel & Animal Crossing & Fallout: New Vegas & Mario & GTA V

Just started another New Vegas play through after a couple years away from it. Favorite Fallout game by far. Always tell myself I’m going to do an evil Legion campaign but can never bring myself to do it once I start. Nice guy with a long distance rifle, every single time...

As an Xbox person, I’m getting a belated introduction to the Yakuza series and I can’t believe what I’ve been missing all this time...

Yup, finished AC Origins and Odyssey, so starting on Odyssey DLC legend of the first blade

My firm is heading back to the office next month after 7 months of working remotely. I am dreading it because I have grown to love my work-from-home, yoga-pants-wearing, no-makeup lifestyle. I recently met someone in another country where I’m working remote. He asked me to be his girlfriend but I’m moving in about a month. He doesn’t want to do distance unless I move back (which is an option with remote work, but visas are tricky). I really like him but don’t know if I’d be able to move back here between work/borders/etc. Do I keep seeing him and just try to enjoy the now? A part of me just feels so sad about leaving and breaking up. Idk if it’s worth it.

In your opinion, where is the big law “office” going in the next few years. Do you expect them to keep the expensive real estate + eventually demand people back in, or consolidate, downsize their overhead and keep WFH? Relatedly, will that change the markets in the big metros?

Confession - I don't want to go back to office. I'm happy working from home and find no solid reason in stepping back. I hope the flexi work culture allows permanent WFH - I don't have a "good enough" reason, but I don't want to go (isn't this good enough?) It's been 1.5 years now, too comfortable to step out from my PJs to jeans.

So my roommate has been staying elsewhere since we began quarantining and has been returning intermittently. Roommate has been paying half the electricity bill, which I have felt weird even charging for, but my friends have insisted that it is still both our responsibilities. Given WFH is permanent as of now, the electricity has been a bit higher with me home for the 10 hours I’d normally be gone. And with summer approaching, AC is going to double that cost. Do I still keep charging half? AITA?

Did I screw myself by being the first person to bring up salary figures with a startup? I tried to hold firm and make sure they said ballpark range first before I said if those align with my expectations, but she gave a vague “it depends on market, but I can give you a broad range from $45k-$90k for the role.” So I responded with $70k-$80k. Should I have asked for the highest range then of $80k-$90k? Worst case scenario, I don’t want it being revoked.
