Has anyone else ever thought of moving overseas? Just came back from vacation, so I'm not sure if it's me dreading work or if I really like the country.

I spent 4 years with EY living and working in London. Now based in NYC. The firm is very interested in sending people overseas. It was an amazing time for me both personally and professionally. I would highly recommend it

My friends at Deloitte and EY moved to the Copenhagen and Lausanne offices and they don’t have any regrets. They’re the type of people who travel a lot too so if that’s your thing then go for it while you still have the time.

That’s just the difference between living somewhere and traveling there

I was a Manager at the time and in International tax. We send people from all service lines overseas though. It does help to be a manager and above but I did meet an audit staff who was working in Newcastle UK to learn IFRS

For those who has oversea experience, do you mind sharing how was the process of applying for an international rotation? Thanks!

When is it either allowed or seen as OK to start using FTO? I recently started here and while I’m not looking to slack off and take time off, I just want to know how it works. I haven't taken a single vacation or sick day in over a year. I'll lateraling to another firm next month (pending conflicts). Would it be in poor taste schedule a vacation prior to giving my two weeks notice? I love my group and I don't want to burn bridges.

Hi all. Posted this in a different bowl and not getting any replies. Hoping you all can help. What benefits are smaller companies (under 50 employees) offering? How much pto? How big of a contribution to health, dental? Any spousal or dependent coverage? Any other less common benefits? Basically looking for ways to remain competitive to the degree possible with larger employers. Thanks!

Hey CGI folks, from where can I see current year holiday list for 2021 in India?

Reminder to everyone: use your 2021 vacation time. Don’t let it pass you by just because you’re not traveling. Take a long weekend once a month to nap and eat chips in sweat pants all day. We all need to do our part to normalize self care, and sitting at home doing “nothing” is just as worthy of a vacation day as pina coladas on the beach.

Hi Rachel! Holiday question - How should I balance my personal “wants” vs. family obligations during the holidays? I am exhausted, want to stay home and rest, do my hobbies, while SO wants to fly to the Midwest to spend time with his large extended family. Throughout pretty much my entire career, I've never taken a true extended vacation. I'm about to take nearly 2.5 weeks off and actually be mostly away from work to focus on my wife and kids. To be honest, I actually have some anxiety about it. Any sage wisdom from others on disconnecting?

Need gift ideas! I’ve been crashing at two of my good friend’s place for the past month and a half and I want to get something to thank them for letting me stay/holiday gift. All I have so far is a nice bottle of scotch. Please help!
