Has anyone else faced been stared down by people when you say you work at Amazon? There's too many stories about warehouse workers recently.

Yes, it can lead to awkward stares and hostility, especially in Seattle where it seems so many people here hate the company.

Say you're one of the warehouse workers, then they can feel sorry for you.

I actually look forward to the reaction when I say I work at Amazon. If I receive a negative comment or question, I have two responses “I needed a job, and they offered” or “Don’t worry, I’m not on the E-commerce side and know nothing about the warehouse”

I have three years of experience in agency recruiting and HR. I’m currently making 47k as an HR Coordinator. I’m starting to feel bitter that I took a pay cut to transition to HR from agency recruiting so I put myself open to recruiters on LinkedIn and got a Sr Recruiter contract offer with a company that I’m familiar with for $38/hour. I don’t love the company’s culture so I’m going to keep looking but would it be worth leveraging the offer with my current org? I’ve only been there for 7 months

Do you think politics comes up a lot or is a problem in your workplace / company? (I'm talking real world politics, not office politics).

Do you feel like the competition is much higher lately for startups in terms of winning the attention of investors, or have there been more investors entering the market to fund more potential succeses (to make up for it)? Basically is it easier to raise funding or less, given the amount of unicorns we're seeing.

Quick question - are online coding schools worth it? I’m thinking of a career change and I’ve thought about a coding Boot Camp but saw an online full stack developer course by mammoth interactive. I recently interviewed for a really well known, mature tech company that’s revered for its great culture. I was at the last round, after over a month of communication, interviews and challenges. I couldn’t even count hours I’d already put in. Then they ghosted me. It ruined my interest in the role anyway, but I’m still extremely disappointed with how they treated me. Is there a way to give them that feedback? And is it even worth it anyway?

Product Design Engineer, interviewing at Apple (Cupertino) and at Meta (Seattle/Redmond). Not at the offer stage yet, but I'm contemplating where I would relocate with family.
No idea about team/culture/stability differences yet.

The non-work factors I'm debating are:
1. Cost-of-living (housing!). Could probably afford a nice ~$1.25M SFH in Seattle suburbs sooner than a fair $1.5-2M near Cupertino.
2. Public School quality. Unsure private will be affordable.
3. Weather/region: activities
