I know, but then I beat myself up about not having the mental fortitude to deal with the anxiety, or doubt that it’s “that serious” and think I’m making excuses. But it’s been such a tough year and every day is setting me closer to the edge.

OP, I’m in the same boat at the moment. Not the same symptoms but am definitely experiencing my own symptoms from overworking over the last few weeks. We do have a deadline we are working towards, so I’m going to push through and then start taking 3-day weekends every other week to recover. Are you in a position to talk to someone about your workload and readjust so it’s not as bad?

I’ve already taken so much off my plate and everything remaining is so essential for me to stay on track with my career growth. :( sorry to hear you’re going through the same thing ❤️

Just get out. I did. You will understand later. Consulting is slave work and exit opp pay more than what you made in consulting for lot less work.

I’m not, I was for a time and realized I felt like I should get it, rather than I wanted to get it.

I have my hands in so many things I couldn’t imagine just coming to a dead stop.

I throw up at least once a day and have lost 20 lbs in like 2 months. I’m an optimist though 😁

Yes, I was dizzy for five straight months every single day. I could barely go to the store because I would be sick from dizziness. Many tests and brain MRIs later it subsided when Covid happened and I wasn’t on the road anymore. While I am beyond stressed out on two projects right now and feel it creep back in, it is a terrible symptom of anxiety but it can be beat.

Have you been sleeping enough? Please take care of yourself OP!

8 hours per night!!

I had a similar issue before that was definitely related to burn out/over work, which caused work induced anxiety and panic attacks. Never would’ve thought those would be things I’d say about myself, but it’s definitely a reality. Taking a break, plus a change of pace in moving projects was really helpful. Not sure what type of counseling you’re doing, but some of the most helpful things I’ve learned from counseling for managing the physical pain is a scale of internal distress and using it to check in with myself and recognize signs of getting to a 6 or 7 (slightly distressed) before being at a 9 or 10 suddenly and having the chest pains + feeling I don’t know how I’ll ever get though my work. In tandem, we worked to identify some activities that can bring me back to reality so to speak and reduce the distress before it gets unmanageable. Took a while, but when I realized my primary doc would’ve been fine to put me on meds and send me out the door I bought into therapy more as I’d rather try to find coping mechanisms early in my career before getting reliant on meds I likely didn’t need if it weren’t for work. Not shaming at all, as many folks benefit greatly from medicating, but I would encourage you to think about the best solution for you and do the work/buy in to therapy if that’s what you value. Also, definitely try to take a break or explore a new project opportunity for a change of pace as soon as you can! You’ve gotta put you first!

I’ve been on medication since I was 5 and finally on something that’s worked! I take Xanax for panic attacks when I absolutely need to.

The company doesn’t care about your well being beyond not getting sued. Especially during COVID times.

I tell myself that I've come to terms with my husband not being very thoughtful or helpful around the house. But I was sick last weekend and he didn't even unload the dishwasher or put away the laundry I'd already done, and when I asked him to help me by getting me drinks and stuff, he would tell me 'in a minute' because he was on his phone, and then he'd get to it eventually or forget. It's like, can you pretend to care just a little?
