So even with h1-b it’s hard to find another job these days? I guess transferring greencard sponsorship is even harder?
Do you need a visa transfer or a lottery process?
Purely environment..hardly any company is willing to file or transfer H1Bs these days
Noticed the dearth. Definitely the environment
Industry offers or consulting??
D1 : I am looking to move from consulting to industry. That’s where I have seen the most impact. Are you seeing otherwise elsewhere
Yes..definitely the environment..I got zero calls. I'm using my network now.
I get rejected in the introductory calls the moment I say I have visa
Well yeah the reason is obvious there’s too much uncertainty with a h1b employee + added costs
Headhunter said “we are sorry but we can’t proceed” upon hearing I’ll need a h1b transfer... I wouldn’t take it personally, OP. It’s the environemnt
*environment
Usually big companies don’t have problems with transfers. Are you looking at smaller places maybe that’s why?
Most of the companies I’ve interviewed for were all willing to transfer the H1B. Weird. Headhunters will normally say no if you are on an L1, but will go ahead with an H1. I am in the bay area tho. And Bay is hiring like crazy.
From my experience- all the big banks, and fintech companis (Visa, Mastercard etc) have no issues transferring H1... got my transfer done 2 weeks ago
It definitely depends on the company. If you’re going for startups/small companies then yeah, they’ll likely prefer not to have to deal with additional costs.
I interviewed with a few big tech and CPG firms and the H1b transfer was not an issue at all. Now moving to tech and transfer was done with no hitches...
Perhaps it’s a Bay Area thing? Just chatted with Accenture where no visa sponsorship was mentioned explicitly...
I am from NyC fyi
