Just applied for a KPMG M&A Senior Consultant position. Connections and recruiter made it pretty clear I’d be coming in for an interview. Currently at IBM GBS. Previous M&A exp + consulting exp
How can I be happier at work? I found myself keep comparing me to other colleges and feel I’m not as recognized or taking credits that I suppose to take, and this makes me unhappy and exhausted. FYI I’m competitive in skills and knowledge but not as good in politics and often feel tired to think about it. I also tried to not care about the recognition but then how do I make sure I get to move my path up and forward in the current role?
So I think we can all agree that agency work is soul crushing right now. Endless zooms, pitches going nonstop, lack of connections. Question... is an in-house role any better right now? Would my life be... more manageable?
Currently Manager. Considering exit to industry role- small company ($100M rev) reporting to COO as VP of M&A. Anyone have exp. at small private’s in executive roles post consulting?
Got offer from a top 10 PE firm, but it’s a senior position in Corp accounting. Base comp increased by 13%. Currently M1, not sure if should I take the job for money or should pass because it’s a step down on title. Hours are about 40-50/wk
What is a good way to ask about bonus structure before accepting an offer? Is asking before accepting an offer appropriate?
After having HR discussion she told me that the compensation is approved by partner and she is sending offer letter for approval it's been 1 week and still she is telling that offer letter is in pending approval in pwc.... created workday profile for same What does it mean generally how much time this process takes
I see posts all the time about the “tough” market going on right now but why cant recruiter and hiring managers give a chance to entry level. I mean real entry level 0-2 years of experience. I honestly do not feel bad for some recruiters that ignore messages because you dont have the experience they are looking for.
I’m interested in Anomaly, can anyone give me some things to know about them? Or if I’m in the right direction? Average AE salary?
Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.
Ideas for reaching out to alumni on LinkedIn you didn't know well in regards to a position at their firm? I feel that if I didn't mention the position in the intro email, I would be coming of as insincere. Any one else feel this way or advice to get around this? Thanks!
If Leaving FDD (deals advisory) for an FP&A job at the senior associate level, should I expect a base salary decrease?
What are your thoughts on negotiating a salary for an internal promotion? My boyfriend thinks that I absolutely have to negotiate, but I’m inclined to just accept the first offer... am I doing myself a disservice?
Am trying to switch into tech transformation or strategy from implementation, as it aligns more with my experience. Anyone able to give a referral to another Big 4 who has this offering??
Hi - if I quit baking after my 2 years and got my associate promo bonus (which is now seen as an overpayment), do I need to pay it back to company if they are asking for it? What happens if I don’t? (I am in Canada btw)
does anyone have experience exiting after 1 year? any vengeful MD stories? my MD knows a lot of people and i’m scared if i interview or exit to one of these places that he has a connection at he might try to mess with my career...
Hiring for a Manager, Campaign Analytics at Spark Foundry. Email resume to Kat.email@example.com
Interviewed with a firm three weeks ago. Reached out to see where they were in the hiring process and the managing partner just emailed me back asking to set up a ten minute phone call tomorrow. What could this be about? Offer? Thanks but no thanks??
Any reviews on Chainalytics? Is their impact solid in the SC space ? Also any insight on People, culture, compensation. Thank you.
What other firms are experiencing FS layoffs? Sounds like majority PwC based on previous posts.
How bad are the crime and safety issues in San Francisco? Any recommendations on neighborhoods to live in or avoid? Moving with my partner from a very safe city, and the news and crime maps for SF are a bit disconcerting, to say the least.
Any skip promotion from Senior 2 to Manager who can explain why our compensation will be lower than fellow managers (going from S3 to M1)?
Any 🐠 interview for a senior vendor manager role at Amazon? Any experiences/ advice to share
Layoffs across Pub Health brands?
Hey everyone! Anybody working in AWS or have recently applied? I have an interview coming up for a Senior Client Lead Recruiter position. I’d like to get any insights on the position, interview process and the Total Compensation please? The levels online don’t seem to match, maybe that is not accurate for Canada? The recruiter mentioned somewhere around 80k TC already and it seems kind of low?
I am assigned a desk on client site with no monitor. should I bring my own or will that make me look high maintainence?
I am an analyst. To be honest, I feel like I am sinking, and everyone knows it. I was not an Econ major in college (poly Sci) , and I am new to excel. However, I feel like I am constantly thrown into the deep end, and no one wants to help me, answer my questions, or help guide me through asks. I was under the impression that this would be a teaching environment. Worst feeling when you feel stupid, and you know that everyone else thinks you are stupid too. Will prob b fired.
I m thinking of buying term life insurance. Can you renew the policy after 10 years, 20 years once it is lapsed and you r still alive?
I work in a lean team. When it’s me + NSP + a senior partner on the deal, the senior partner refuses to speak to me directly and my work would go up the chain of command. The NSP + senior partner would discuss the rationale for certain positions in the key docs w/o explaining to me or speak to clients directly w/o me, and I’d be asked to send out the revised draft to the opp counsel. When I get calls from opp counsel on tougher points in the drafts, I’m not really able to answer. Is this normal?
Has anyone worked in HR for a manufacturing company? What’s the industry like? I come from a tech environment and am being considered for an HRBP role for a manufacturing company. Not sure if it’s the right move. Not sure what to expect. Thank you.
How do internal transfers impact promotions? E.g. of you are in a promotion year to manager, how farther back will your promotion be pushed?
I just noticed my extra miles on Delta didn’t transfer from last year to this year. Anyone else see this or do I now have to call?
I am getting a crazy amount of spam calls "verify your business with Google" on my work Skype number!! I don't know why this is happening. Does anyone know how to block it or another solution?
When you’re ready for your next move, will you consider only fully remote opportunities?
Decent profile and 80k pay at a big 4 or shitty profile and 140k pay in the industry? In either cases getting no where!!!
At the end of the week I also end up with a bunch (50+) of open Outlook windows related to meeting invites. Basically, I look at my calendar, double click the invite then join the Zoom meeting. It takes me directly into the meeting and leaves the invite window open. Wash, rinse, repeat and by Friday there is literally one for every meeting I attended. Unfortunately, you can’t close them all together because it will ask you “Want to save your changes?” for every single one. Thoughts?
