Got an offer for Electronic Arts (EA) Manager for North America (Canada) remote for 100k base CAD, 15 percent bonus and around low 40ks RSU (assuming it's USD). How much higher can the base be in Canada for EA for a Manager role? Base seems low even at 110 CAD. It's a corporate role so not anything technical or product related. Most or all the more senior managers are in the USA. Electronic Arts (EA)

I haven’t noticed it but I also honestly don’t care. Look down negatively on me all you want but My kids come first. I’m able to be there for my kids, school, extra curricular activities, in ways I never thought would be possible before the pandemic and shift to remote.
STA 1, yes it’s not just for people with kids. That’s my specific situation but Ive talked to so many others that it’s beneficial for in various circumstances such as coworkers with aged parents that they provide care for like shuffling them to appointments, getting a meds, grocery shopping. I had a younger staff spend the summer with her grandparents at their beach condo and raves about the special time she was getting with them such as drinking coffee in the morning together, having lunch together, then heading to the beach or pool late afternoon after work, memories that are both for her and her grandparents. And then just like you said, being able to get more time with your spouse, friends, family. In a few years when my kids are older and more independent maybe I’ll go in more, work more, etc but now is not that time.
I haven’t noticed it personally, but I also work in the office more than the majority of my class.
And while it may make your life easier, those who do go into the office are typically having to field questions for the interns and associates more.
As a senior, I feel like I am helping interns more than before now that it’s WFH. Plus it’s easier to explain with the shared screen.
Yeah I got fucked in my review cause I asked to wfh more
Same happened to me. My team claimed my availability was unclear, when I outlined to our managers I was going to WFH, however the pressure of seeing a whole team in person pushed me to go back, fearing potential repercussions in my review, and it still reflected on me in the end
Are you really helping develop people, being available for your team, and making good relationships (even from just shooting the shit, remember we're all people and favoritism is a thing from simple human interactions) - if you're never willing to come to the office? Or said better, are you being as good of an employee that takes on a commute, cleans themselves up, and actively seeks those additional ways to contribute? Our highest ratings have always been for those who stand out, so it makes perfect sense that seeing you as a human person more often may just be another differentiator for those getting by and those wanting to kick ass. :)
That’s obviously a different situation where I’m sure there are other ways to stand out. I was pointing out those that go to the office VS those that don’t. As was kinda the situation where some were standing out because the office was open to them and their teams. Like a lot of us.
I have not experienced this. How are you certain the less than great review was due to WFH? real Q - not trying to bait you
Not OP, but when I was at EY upper management did lower people’s dials who were not coming into the office 2-3 days/week. They did this during performance round table discussions.
That's not right. If you as just as productive WFH as in the office you should not be penalized for it. At our firm, we are trying to create a better WFH program so employees who want to can. There shouldn't be any repercussions from WFH especially if you have good reason to.
