Yes but i know it's caused by feeling like I'm at a meaningless and toxic job, and now my options are limited. It's a metaphorical feeling of being "stuck" and physically also being stuck.
The second my loans are paid off I’m becoming a public defender
Call me Jesus because I die and resurrect every three days. This is the life we've chosen.
I should clarify, dead inside from quarantine. I was not dead inside before this. I don't have the emotional capacity to even be upset anymore. Can't even look to the short-medium future with any hope. I'm alive, but not living.
Hey CTP. I think we all are looking for solace and perhaps even happiness in our own ways given our particular circumstances. For me a good day is another day without becoming ill and another set of opportunities to hang out with my young adult son and daughter, who live a long way from me but have moved back in until WFH restrictions ease. I spent the whole day Sunday in my workshop with my son - something we haven’t done in a few years. And my family and I watch one favorite movie together every night - some very familiar and others we haven’t seen in awhile. I know that sort of thing isn’t possible for everyone but I’ve found a lot of comfort in savoring simple things that we frankly couldn’t be doing or doing as much of absent CV-19. I’m also reading a lot of books, a simple pleasure that I do less of under “normal” circumstances. And cooking, which I love. Might there be simple — even if I exciting or mundane - things that you could look to as markers of a good day?
In terms of things to talk about, a lot of really interesting things are happening in the world, some as a direct result of the pandemic and others less clearly so. The environmental changes have been striking and hopeful. Some of the geopolitical things (like whatever is up with Kim Jung Un) are potentially unsettling but could be very important. And for those of us who love sports there are no new games to enjoy but spring is draft season, which gives us endless non-pandemic related things to debate. If you look I think you’ll see more out there than you expect.
Do also take really good care of yourself. You have shared some of your personal challenges in your other posts and the current situation can’t possibly make those challenges easier. You and we will make it through this.
Hi OP. Can I suggest that you plug into a mutual aid network or some other volunteer network? A lot of the work is being done remotely from the comforts of your home. But it may give you hope, community and something to look forward to each day.
You’ve reached nirvana, well done
I think we have all been through this. But the question for you to ask yourself is what else could you do that gives you the amount of money you are king now (to cover your living expenses not because you wanna be rich). If you can find something else, then go and try it out . But just like an athlete, remember if you stop it’s harder to jump back in the race
Same A2, I’m very passionate about my job (it doesn’t pay well though lol) but I am dead inside because of the crisis. I was keeping my positivity and momentum for a few weeks and even worked on my work passion projects, but I can’t even convince myself to care about those anymore.
