I'm having that monthly panic attack of sorts where I realize I'm giving away over half of my waking life for a job I find no satisfaction in.
I consider being a receptionist every time I walk past their empty desk. God I would love a 9-5 😭.
@Bain1 Remote Year started off this latest round of soul-crushing panic attacks. Any thoughts on what sort of remote jobs one with our skill-set could look for before joining a program like remote year?
Check out Remote Year
Remote year. Sigh. I wish this was a concept when I was first starting out. Life, kids, older oarents, crushing me. Get out there kids, get out there - it's all so very very short before the big wave of life takes you.
At age 24, I quit my job and did a nine month Fulbright in Brazil. One of the best decisions that I ever made. Look into being a Kiva Fellow or look up that org called something like gotta go global
Tons, but I'd have to think and it would depend how much you would want to get paid. Int'l dev work does not pay much at all while you are young. My fulbright paid me $11k for nine months and made zero adjustments despite inflation. Which of your consulting skills would you like to use?
OP, to echo what other have said, it depends on what you want to do and how much you want/need to be paid. For starters, check out Angellist -- there a tons of remote jobs at startups

Seriously though, every time I go to Starbucks I wish I was a barista

@D3 sounds like great advice, thanks! Any potential jobs someone with a consulting skill set could look to get hired for that are remote?
