Has anyone else stumbled upon researching the “highly sensitive” personality trait and seen how it could explain a lot of their ADHD symptoms? I did and I think it explains a lot.

I’m pretty sure I’m a “highly sensitive sensation seeking extrovert” which explains a hell ova lot

First stumbled on HSP, but landed on empathic person in the end. Lots of overlap with my ADHD symptoms. But also things that are unique to each group...

I agree I definitely still have adhd unique symptoms but now think it may be more mild then I once thought. Although that doesn’t make my distractability any better. How did you land on empathetic person vs hsp? I had trouble differentiating with that myself

Hi Everyone, I’m currently actively interviewing/searching for CoS positions and encountered a situation that requires finessing. When COVID lockdown started I took a job that was entry level & was underemployed bc at the time I wanted to prevent professional atrophy while I waited to see how things would play out. Now, it appears as though I’m being passed over by recruiters bc my last position does not reflect the 10+yrs of senior administrative management experience I have. Any suggestions?

Lol I input 25 yds as a lap but maybe I needed to put 50? Silly little thing but it’ll drive me crazy haha

Seriously wanna divorce my wife who’s not necessarily a bad person but I feel angry about her all the time. I always have to fight with her over the small things. I feel she’s playing a power game and trying to take control whenever she gets the chance.

The only moment she steps back and be the person I want is when I get really angry and she can sense it. Why do I have to do this every time to get peace?

No kids, but even I am not afraid to divorce, I don’t feel it’s worth it!

Im trying to understand if I have add/adhd and the internet research is pointing towards a yes.

Im still a masters student and worked a bit (which was a disaster due to excel mistakes and inattentiveness) and have been a struggling inattentive and non focused student since ever..

Would you have any recommendations to better evaluate add/adhd or manage it at this point of time?

Ofc I am going to get professional help in due course but just wanted to know from you all.

My psychiatrist today revealed to me that I may have ADHD, still a hypothesis that he is still exploring but from my personal experiences and discussions with therapist, it seems likely.

One example of personal experience is my ongoing prep for case studies as I'm interviewing with a number of firms. I do struggle to keep focus and generally take a bit longer to finish them, specifically the structuring of the case. Does anybody else feel the same way and any recommendations to overcome this?

Is anyone on a low dose of Adderall or a similar stimulant, and do you find it helpful/effective?

When I was diagnosed (at 20 yo) I started on Adderall XR and my psychiatrist essentially took a “keep upping the dose until you feel side effects” approach, even though I still saw some benefits at a lower dose. I’m currently unmedicated and am somewhat hesitant to restart, but feel I could see some benefit and better stability with the help of medication.
