Has anyone else taken a hit to their work confidence during covid? I tell myself that just because I’m bad at WFH doesn’t mean I’m necessarily bad at this job. But I’m a junior, so I don’t even know if that’s true.

I’ve been an Associate at EY-Parthenon for about 1.5 years (out of a non-MBA Master’s program). I’ve realized the contractor life is not for me and wanted to see if there were any referrals around for roles related to corporate strategy, business operations, or program management. With WFH indefinite, now considering relocating outside New York State, but will earn income from an NYC based company. Will I still be subject New York City income tax?

I am curious how other inclusion teachers are being utilized when the school is doing remote learning. I find that I am sitting in the zoom class and have very little opportunity to contribute. Notification fatigue is slowly killing me. The majority of my teams are all remote so all communication is via chat and all day long some channel is blowing up. On top of job anxiety, having numerous people tag you or alerting about something is draining. I think I’m about to have a breakdown 🫠

Looking for ideas for a slight "career change". I can't stand working bedside/acute care nursing anymore, officially burnt out.

Does anyone have any experience with informatics based nursing jobs, or clinical documentation specialist positions? EMR auditing? Remote jobs? Pros/cons? Do you find there are part time positions available?

I don't have my masters just my BSN/RB, nor do I plan on going back for my masters, would possibly consider a certification if really necessary.

One thing I loved about the WFH environment is being able to do video interviews and not having to tell anyone I have a doctors appointment or something. Literally no one knows that I was in an interview right before the team status meeting. Do you guys think that video interviews are here to stay even after covid? At least the first round or two? It can save so much time for everyone involved.

How long are people being positive with covid for?? I know some people that are symptom free for over 2-3 weeks but still coming back positive?? How is this possible?? Are they contagious? Most jobs suggest if your symptoms free for 10 days then you can go back to work...yet some of these people are still testing positive. Thoughts???

What is it about this profession that makes people think it is okay to look down on others - not just people in other professions but also people who are from other schools, other firms, other region, etc. We can be good lawyers and good human beings. Those two are not mutually exclusive...

1st year patent litigator looking to work in house 5-ish years down the line, planning to jump ship over to IP transactions next year. Do people think having some litigation (and potentially prosecution, my firm will pay for my patent bar class) on my resume will be a plus for in house roles?

Paralegals that are rude/unprofessional to associates and try so hard to have a “gotcha” moment are the worst.

How hard is it for an associate to get fired in big law solely based on low billable hours? How many years do they need to be low? How many chances do they get? How low is too low for a second chance the following year? This is assuming quality of work is historically good and not their fault they have little work.

Just curious has anyone ever worked as an accountant at the big 4 before law school? How do big 4 accountant hours compare to big law?
