Has anyone ever asked for a market based salary adjustment at work? How did you go about doing it?

Yes — didn’t work. Did research, presented it with my project wins. Only thing that works is another offer — which usually means take the other offer.

They thought they could pay what they always have and what others were accepting. Eventually this wage inertia will hurt the company.

I wasn't even able to get one during time of promo. Most companies realize that they have the power unless they actively don't (such as a hire turning them down.)

Accenture folks, do you get a bonus with mid year promotion?

I just received an offer from Deloitte to come in at the Consultant level in their GPS sector. I feel I’m being compensated pretty well with a 105k base and 5k sign-on bonus (I posted a couple of hours ago and my 17 month old managed to delete it somehow). Anyways, I would love to hear some brutally honest opinions of what the work-life balance could possibly look like.

So, Agoda. What’s up with this recruiting process? No info on comp, just constant bragging about how they have members from FAANG from around the world joining, and that should be enough to convince you to consider relocating to Bangkok and undergo 5 - 6 rounds of interviews, a 30 minute assessment and a 2 day case study?

I’m working in-house…no timesheets, title I asked for, good salary (6 figures), remote, pretty much done at 5p. No, the work isn’t riveting, but that’s what side projects are for! Stick it out until I get restless, but nice to stop hustling so hard. (Accepting that I may never get a Lion.)

Got dinged after a final round AC interview with Bain & Company as an experienced hire with 1 YOE. Currently at $75k base salary and on average work 30-40 hours a week. Considering $15-25k increase in salary, but double the number of work hours, is it worth reapplying to Bain next year or better to wait to apply until after business school?

I’d like to leave my current company soon (complicated). I interviewed with several companies but no offers materialized (someone had more relevant experience or better fit than I). now running out of roles to apply to. There are a few companies I would have not even considered applying to initially (no industry knowledge, too far to commute, not financially stable) but now feel like I can’t be too picky. Should I just apply to every relevant role I see although I don’t think I’ll be happy there
