Has anyone ever asked for a raise and subsequently regretted making the ask?

Nope. Even when I didn’t get the money I asked for and the firm thought I was a greedy ungrateful ass it was still worthwhile because they gave me the info I needed to lateral with no regrets.

I have asked several times and once my boss got really upset about it. I thought that I made the wrong choice but shortly after that I got a very substantial raise so… do not regret it.

Just wanted to ask if we have to open a salary account in any specific account or any bank account will do?

Is it expected that people who exit from MBB/Deloitte at post mba levels (PL/EM/M) take paycuts when going to industry? (non FAANG, PE). I'm In process at multiple internal consulting/strategy groups who say the paycut is part of the trade-off for less hours/no travel.

But as a female🐠, I can't discern whether this is just a negotiation tactic. Mentors have told me never take less pay.

For reference, this is at a comparable industry equivalent level (not clear up/down)

Any advice to stay encouraged?

I’ve been back from Mat Lave for 6 months and recently sat down to meet with my new Supervisor to discuss future opportunities for advancement and express that I’m hoping to have a salary review soon.

He told me he agreed I was undervalued when reviewing my comp and mentioned a few times now that my maternity leave was a factor in me being underpaid - what do I do I feel heartbroken and discouraged? I feel so stuck - I love my work but how can I feel ok every day knowing this?

Is 130k salary unrealistic for a consultant level working in workday with 1 yoe? Keep in mind I have 5 yoe in consulting with 4 of them being in a different hr technology.

I am fairly new to sales (3 years), and I just closed a deal that will pay out twice what I made all of last year ($75k vs $150k). My question is: nobody here can talk to their friends or family about this kind of stuff, right? Do you all disclose to people that you are pulling in $250-$300k in a year? I'm only 25 so I don't want my friends to make me buy all their drinks 😅

Ok this is a weird question.

I have a puppy of 5 months old, he had diarrhoea since 3 days. I went to the vet and they gave him metronidazole, an antibiotic. He just had his first pill.

But: I have to go to a dinner for an hour or 3 this evening. I’m afraid to put him in his crate while he’s having diarrhoea.

Can I do that? Does the antibiotic work fast? Or should I let him out of his crate so he can go to the puppy pad if needed. I never let him out of his crate while home alone.
