Living and working in ey McLean office?
McKinsey & Company McKinsey & Company been working here one year and received pretty positive feedback. Given the expectation for people of my tenure to transition to EM in a year or so, I can’t see myself staying due to the WLB as an EM. I’m 35 and have 2 young kids. Can it even be realistically done? Would love to stay but I don’t see a balance which would keep my family happy. What options do I have from there?
I'm so jaded 😬

I’ve stayed at both and the Westin is definitely nicer and more “resorty”
Pro
I’d do Westin all day over the Sheraton, regardless of location.

The only place I’ve ever been with a Sheraton preferable to a Westin is Seattle.
Sheraton Grand Seattle is amazing
Just got back from the Westin a few weeks ago. If you stay there, go for the Hokupa’a tower, it’s significantly nicer and you get the lounge access.
We upgraded to a suite that had a massive private jacuzzi, outdoor table, and fire pit. I think there are only one or two on the property.
Whalers is next door so it’s touristy. For a few fleeting moments it felt like a trashy crowd.
Doing the same research myself right now... No direct experience, but there are some very long threads on flyertalk that indicate neither does much for elites (even Titanium). The Marriott Wailea seems to do more but overall status doesn't seem to translate to much in Hawaii unfortunately.
Both are on the same strip in Kaanapali. The Sheraton is at the end of the beach and is a bit older but you’ll have significantly more quiet and privacy on the hotel and beach.
The Westin is right in the middle of the beach and is definitely newer and nicer, but it’s where all of the families stay and has a bit more of a tourist and kids vibe.
Both are great though, on the same beach and not a significant difference.
For a complete private, out of the way vibe check out the Marriotts in Wailea
I’ve stayed at both. The Westin is great. Highly recommend. The Marriott on the beach is amazing too. Awesome waves to surf.
I have only stayed at the Sheraton but would highly recommend the Sheraton as it is the only hotel on Black Rock (directly behind the hotel on the beach). It’s the best place to snorkel and cliff jump. If you don’t end up staying here, it’s pretty much the place you want to be anyways on that beach unless you want to do surf lessons right in front of the Marriott property.
The Sheraton is fantastic - ask for a room in the 6300s if you’re ok with a longer walk (5-7 mins to lobby). The view is well worth it. Stunning ocean views with gardens all around. Saw countless whales too. The main downside to the Sheraton is it is out of the way and you’ll pass the Westin on the way walking along the beach to “town”, but the trade off is worth it IMO. The Sheraton Also has a great breakfast with status.
PM1 - sorry, don’t have any Westin recos as haven’t stayed there. Just familiar with the area.
