Absolutely. The transcript from my first hearing is brutal.

Seriously though don’t worry about it. It will be a good story to tell juniors who bomb hearings when you’re an old pro.

Leave work early, ugly cry on the way home, consider checking into a mental facility so you can't be blamed for how horrendous it went. At least that's what I did.

I def shouldn't have been handling that hearing but yeah very bad. I just tell myself well things can't get worse than that (hopefully lol)

Scrunch up your face, hold your breath, and then let it go.

I wish it would be morally acceptable to publicly trash companies that did 5/6 rounds of interviews with you and completely ghost after. Most of these were done during work hours. Required a lot of arrangements. A total of 5+ hours over weeks. So disrespectful.

Do any other juniors feel like they’re stuck in a game of ever-moving goalposts? I have a mid level who will give me an assignment, and will send an exemplar of their own work on an identical assignment. I use that to format my work and get told the formatting is wrong for xyz reasons.
I’ll do a research question and come back with an answer supported by research. I get told “why didn’t you think of xyz.” I’m sorry, I’ve been a lawyer less than a year, how am I supposed to know on my first go?
