Some people seem to think that folks will never be comfortable in an office setting again, which if true, means the same people will never be comfortable at a sporting event, museum, concert, etc. I understand that concern at the moment. But, if a vaccine becomes available, how many of you here will be comfortable with a return to “normal” life? Life eventually went back to normal after the Spanish Flu pandemic. Is it foolish to assume that will be the case here?

Any healthcare consultants here that transitioned from clinical roles? I’m in the middle of interviewing for an analyst position in HC for Huron. I have 6 YOE as an OT in the hospital settings and also experience as a rehab coordinator.

Have you felt the switch was a good pivot for your career? I’m excited about the potential to join the consulting/business world but wondering what it’ll be like to switch to a entry level role. Would love input from others in the consulting world as well!

My background is in tech transactional. I joined a cybersecurity SaaS startup at the end of last year and now also handle more generalist matters in addition to all things commercial-related. I have a number of books on contracts that I’ve found super helpful over the years (The Tech Contracts Handbook, A Manual of Style for Contract Drafting, Sign Here, etc.). Can anyone recommend books they’ve found helpful for L&E matters, privacy matters, product matters, or marketing/advertising matters?

Hi I’m looking to make a career change. I’m looking for HR Program/Project Manager roles. I have 8+ years of experience in full cycle HR and project management.

In my Current role I’ve developed and managed two large training programs, one of which was awarded a $1.4M grant, and both have been a great success.

Does anyone have any remote leads they’d be open to referring? My background involves government and healthcare and I’m proficient in JIRA and am open to other industries. Thanks!

Which certification we would you recommend for career advancement to be an HR manager? PHR or SHRM? Any other certification I should consider? Pros and cons would be greatly appreciated!

I’m currently working with a senior level HR candidate. This individual has a doctorate in business with a focus in HR, her SPHR, Federal, and private sector experience at the singer level, and has a fabulous personality. I’m curious is anyone else having difficulties play some candidates like this? At this point I’m starting to think it’s racial or her sex based of the lack of interest in this candidate. Any thoughts?

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

Hi everyone! Just looking for some insight. I’m about 4 years into HR, have my bachelors. I’ve been toying around with the idea of getting my masters in something relating to compliance/labor law and that side of HR. Shrm certification is also on my list. If anyone has some advice on what to get a masters in specifically, I’d be open to suggestions! I’m trying to find something that would be worth my while and would give me a step up. Thanks!

Hey all, new to this bowl. Currently a Tech Recruiter and eventually want to make the transition into a HRBP or HR Generalist role. Are recruiters worth more than L&D specialists? We have a new recuiter that transferred in from another dept. & is already making more than me and has a higher comp range. We have same tenure & they have NO prev. recuiting experience. I should also add I have been helping cover recuiting in interim. I also help cover HR tasks, have my SHRM, 5 years of HR exp., and 2 degrees. Is the "value" for recruiters more than L&D? I feel a little taken advantage of, but want to know if I'm off base here.

Hello fellow HR pros! I really need your opinions on HR certifications. I am deciding between PHR and SHRM-cp. I have read just about all there is online comparing the two and can not decide. My heart is telling me PHR, my mother in law (an HRBP) is telling me to go with SHRM, as it’s more widely recognized, more established and a larger network in general. I work for a 350~ company who is growing rapidly through M&A. Passions/interests are compliance, strategic vision, M&A, branding and culture
