I highly doubt they would pay it if you leave before 9/30. The language (I believe) is “employed as of 9/30”.
So it’s either get PTO payout (quit before 9/30) or bonus (quit after 9/30).
Do not play games. Stay until it hits your bank account. You have to secure the bag first.

At RSM we've let people have their last day be bonus payout day and still get it. I would not risk the biscuit though. If the bonus is material to you just let it be known you aren't available until after it's paid.
