I’m confused.....the review says he has high expectations of his staff, and you performed at the level, AND your technical and client skills are very strong.” It’s a good review, why are you mad?
Maybe I’m just worked up about other things... Thanks for the perspective 😊
Don’t know that I’d describe this as “completely bs” lol

What is unfair? It’s a good review, perhaps you should take the win and not pick a fight with a partner writing reviews below his normal review levels.
I guess I left out that 100% of my engagements are performed at the manager level while I’m still a senior. I was just hoping that I’d be judged based on the fact that I’m performing above my level.
This is why most review systems are inherently flawed, this partners expectations shouldn’t matter, the review should be based on the expectations for the rank. If OP was a high performer the words are great, but the meeting expectations would put them in the middle. It’s the counselors role to help figure out if the feedback/rating makes sense based on feedback provided, but there isnt much to go on in the review. Hopefully, there was a feedback conversation that went along with the review to give more context, but if not I’d suggest following up to get more information or discuss it with your counselor.
Partners always mark “at level” even though verbally they say I perform above and beyond. Maybe they always think there is always room for improvement?
I think it’s also noteworthy that performing above and beyond at your level doesn’t necessarily equate to being capable of performing the next level’s responsibilities adequately. Sucks to not get recognized for what you are doing though, I think the feedback and ratings for all firms could be improved.
Not everyone gets a trophy.
Seems pretty on point to me. If they have high expectations and performance was very strong then meets expectations would seemingly be appropriate.
Maybe extraordinarily strong performance would exceed expectations?
They have high criteria and you meet them! Sounds like you’re speaking to someone with a high bar, so meeting that expectation is likely a compliment in their mind. Unfortunate you don’t feel your rating shows where you go above and beyond, but there’s quite a gap between your level and partner so hopefully this will be reflected in other reviews where the reviewer is close to your work. Keep up the great job!
Never understood folks that divulge info here that can clearly be traced to them. How can you know that your post won’t be read by the partner?
So be it 🤷🏻♀️
Hey OP, have you tried providing a write up to the partner about your performance? This way they can just leverage your points and present you in a way you feel you deserved?
Ah, gotcha! I see what you mean. You worked you ass off and performed at the next level. It would only be fair if he noted that
