@EY4 that partner represents everything I hate about PA. People with no lives micromanaging. I used to have a manager question me about firm authorized expenses (cabs home at 2 AM when I’ve worked 15 hours on the client, $15 dinner).
If you are asking since you are new to ey and it says in audit, that is the natural procedure.
One of my partners audits every expense that is charged to the code and send follow up emails if he finds it to be not what he expected it to be. I don’t know how it’s on other teams.
Pwc1. That manager is a dick
You submit / classify something not in accordance with policy. It’s not a big deal
Hi my friend got his expenses audited. I heard it could be two things 1. Someone reporting 2. Random auditing pick (I still think they pick the ones who travel a lot)
I’ve had some audited, was either wrong classification or wrong submission (submitted my
CFE materials incorrectly) wasn’t a big deal, just made the requested edits and got approved
The only time I’ve witnessed it be non-random is when a director rented out an extravagant place largely for personal reasons and even then, he got a slap on the wrist
I had a manager twice tell me to move $9-10 overtime meals out of his codes from 4 months earlier because I wasn’t authorized to charge his code - considering I was ordering for a group of people including one of his associates, I was pretty annoyed. Almost charged his code 30min for running down the expense and moving it - decided not to as a first year since I figured that would start a feud I would lose.
There’s a big difference between “in audit” and getting audited by the firm. “In Audit” means whoever is approving the expense hasn’t approved/looked at it. If a price is even off t s fee cents, they’ll adjust and have you resubmit. Getting audited by the firm means someone is challenging your expenses because there is a pattern of questionable ones (or “random” as they say)
