Are you sure it’s a blacklist and not for independence purposes? I could never do work for a previous employer, our conflict policy doesn’t allow it.
I personally wouldn’t WANT to do work for previous employer. There is a reason I am not with that company and do not wish to go back
If you have been employed and did something dumb to get fired, you may be ineligible for rehire, but always possible. Have not heard of consultants being checked against that list - takes too much coordination and HR is normally not the financial buyer.

Depends. What did you do?
Nothing. I had an internship. I was a young and dumb intern. Slacked off a bit and unsurprisingly they didn't hire me or offer me another internship so I moved on and found other internships.
Agree with EY1, most mature clients do have an “ineligible for re-hire” list but I have never heard of contractors being screened against that list. If the work is in the part of the company where you interned, it is possible that folks remember you and somebody has told your leadership to not staff you...but even that seems excessive.

But I've known many folks who came from the client and now work the same client account so that does seem unlikely.
Well I didn't get fired and I didn't do anything dumb. Also the projects proposed were definitely not in the same group so maybe it's all a massive coincidence but I just found it strange. I was proposed to go to that client 4 times and all 4 times I did not get staffed
Yes. Blacklists have existed at all my customers (HR Consulting). It’s real AF. But I was under the impression that it was for their candidates, not ours. Interesting. You must have done something they didn’t like. Again, with what I’ve seen, it takes something big to be blacklisted
