Which company would you join?
I currently work in Sales with the intention of moving over to marketing in the near future. I received two offers for BDR/SDR roles from Sprout Social and Gong. Both salaries are around the same (Gong - base 63k + anticipated $25k in commission, Sprout - 55k base + anticipated $25k in commission).
I like both companies’ software and it extremely hard to decide which position will get me into marketing faster as it is not a traditional BDR path to take.

Hi sharks, What is the process of onboarding in Oracle? I got to know my BGC is clear and they have finalized the start date. I got an excel sheet to fill information like PF, Health insurance and other relevant information for smooth onboarding. I haven't received anything after that. A clerkship is a great way to gain litigation skills (writing and understanding how courts work), which demonstrates to a future employer that you want to litigate, and can always serve as a reboot as to the firm you want to work for.
As someone who did this internally, it definitely puts an x on your back if you don’t have the blessing of your old practice group. Went from corp to general litigation. Was a great switch from a substance standpoint, but ended up having to switch firms anyway because it was politically unpopular amongst the partners. My advice: switch firms and offer to enter at a lower class year.
Yeah totally agree with your concern OP. In my case the share partner actively tried to prevent me moving practice groups. When I managed to do so anyway it got v acrimonious fast. For whatever reason, share partners do not like when you switch and they are pretty emotional about it. Especially if you are switching midway through the year and they are busy trying to keep the group staffed.
What kind of transactional work exactly? I went from antitrust transactional work to antitrust litigation. There was a shift, but it was easier because I stayed within the same type of law. I imagine my shift was easier than say an M&A associate to a general litigation associate.
You're also still a second year - it's common for juniors to change their areas. It's better to change sooner rather than later!
Thank you! Did you stay at your firm and move internally or take a new role at a different firm? Currently tax and general corporate… looking to totally pivot to employment law litigation or general litigation. I do some tax litigation work now, which I’m hoping will provide talking points and transferable skills when interviewing for litigation roles.
