I have an question about encashment of PL. I have 10PL as of now and my basic pay is 65K.
My question is,
1. How encahsment amount is calculated?
How much amount I can expect? Is 65k * 10? 2. When can I expect this encashment amount ?
3. Is this good option to go for encashment instead of carry forward?

Stay where you are for now, and devote a little time every day towards your search. At the very least you’re still stuffing your 401K, buying company stocks, etc. while you search. Don’t overlook the little perks. 😎
My Dad always told me - don’t leave a job without another one lined up. Take some time to make a thoughtful search, think about what you really want, and go for things that will make you happy. It’s soul crushing to be in a bad situation, so find time to devote to yourself and your search every day - it will lift your spirits.
https://candor.co/hiring-freezes/ also take a look at this. Companies are still hiring! Just scarcely at the moment
@AM Analyst 1, you sound like you have a good head on your shoulders. Ever consider mentorship? I along with other younger/less experienced professionals could learn a lot from someone like you with a positive attitude.
I’m 24 and a financial analyst for an RE dev firm in Los Angeles. Happy to connect
What about an internal move??? Does your company have career mobility? I’ve been in the same boat but after networking Internally I’m expecting an offer this week.
I think it will be hard to get a job externally in this market for the next 9-18 months. Hold out as long as you can and find someone you can talk to about it :)
I was in the same boat recently and left my job about 3 weeks ago. I had been contemplating leaving for almost 2 months and it got to the point where the stress was getting too much.
Many told me not to especially with unemployment during covid-19, but I took the chance anyway and I do feel much better.
Regarding a new job outlook it has been tough, I’m fairly new to the workforce but I’ve had some money saved up, many jobs are on hiring freezes.
My opinion is think about it seriously there are a lot of options to weigh out as you will be stuck home with not much to do for the time being.
I am still actively applying but I am seeing a lot more less job openings, I am hoping to start my masters soon though.
Best of luck!

Congrats!!
I feel your pain. I once went through the same thing. I hated the job to the point it was affecting my sleep, eating, and social life. After awhile it started to affect my health. I wanted to quit so bad but I tortured myself because I had bills to pay and nothing saved. I truly wish I could do it over so things could be handled different. It's ok, I have a nice reminder of my time there. Cardiomyopathy. Took around 3 years to develop after I started that job. If it has affected your health, I'd plan and get any one or two jobs until I could find something else. Don't let these companies screw up your health because they'll have a replacement before your body turns cold. Do whatever you have to do! Go luck.
Did it at the end of March for the same reason. Not the smartest move you would say as it was in the middle of the pandemic. But enough is enough. After that I had like 3 weeks of nothing. I was looking for a job like day and night, but anything. And only in these days I have the interviews coming up. So just do it! I mean, check before to be able to survive for a month or two($), but then you’ll find your place! Oh and...network A LOT! Good luck!
From the looks of it yes, a few are. Sending out laptops/cells in the mail
Run Rabbit. Run.
I did it a few years ago for similar reasons and under a growing economy, probably one of the hardest personal decisions I have ever made in my career but with very good reason. After the full experience and getting back on track , I can say it won’t go without its ups and mostly downs but if you go that route, you will eventually fall in a better place. Having said that, these are different times, try formulating an exit plan and work towards it but do not quit unless you absolutely have to and understand the repercussions.
I’d hold out- start looking and maybe try to frame the work you’re doing as not for the company or for your boss- but as an opportunity for you to learn and build experience/a portfolio. Also- if you are finding your mental health an issue- I would recommend getting some therapy.. you should be your #1 priority.
I’m in a very, very toxic environment that has been detrimental to my mental and physical health (and the company hasn’t handled other people’s hr issues well) and have done this to keep me going as I interview etc. also helps now that I don’t need to see the perpetrators of the issue in-person. I’m in Australia in a very niche area where new roles doing what I want to do don’t come up as frequently- but this mindset has helped me get through it.
I did, it was a necessary move for my mental health. It was an impulse move, I left with my bonus so I had a little cushion, and I don’t regret it for one second. However, with the world in its current state I wouldn’t recommend such a rash move. Carve out some time each day, as difficult as that is, for your new hunt. Even 30 minutes. And good luck!
Most firms have put a hiring freeze for the rest of the year. Don’t fuck yourself over.
Drop me a line. David@thearcfirm.com. I’ll help you find a new home.
MP, where are you located? I could use a new home as well
Yes I have and I ended up at a much better job a few months later. If it’s affecting your mental health and happiness to an extreme degree and you have some money to ride out the gap between jobs then just leave. Life is too short.
Keep your head up!!!!!
I did it in the past, and wouldn’t do it right now, unless you’ve got a buffer or a good social supporting system.
I did it, and don’t regret it at all. as long as you are ready to use up to 6 months of saving or more and okay with that potential savings set back I think it’s worth it if your mental health just can’t bare it anymore. If you can, start to applying to every job under the sun that way you have some beginning leading prior to leaving and if possible leave during the beginning of the month so you can still use “present” on your resume for a month and show less of a gap on your resume for the next place
It’s much easier to get a job when you have a job.
True, but when you don’t have it you have more motivation
Get fired and get stimulus
