Don't want to sound pessimistic on the VPB letter day, but anyone feeling sad looking at 1 lac+ tax they will have to pay on the bonus. Bonus tax rate is too high. Salaried class gets screwed from everywhere by the government.

The worst past about being a senior associate is I have the responsibilities of a partner but also still get associate tasks. For the past few months, people have been praising police officers and other front line workers. But now, a sudden turn of events.

There is a problem, but let’s not criminalize the heroic police officers for the racist acts of some individuals. The best solution, in my opinion, is that we need to specify the problem and resolve it by appropriate action on those individuals. That officer needs to be tried in court for murder to provide justice for what he did. But let’s not punish every officer.

Was promoted to Principle System Engineer in December 2021 (Technical Band 3) and went from 81k to 98k. Our company has experienced significant attrition (13 engineers down to 4 engineers within 6 months) so a few months ago my director bumped me up to 110k based on me being a top performer in 2021 end of year review. Considering that the original offer is roughly 8k less than the market salary. base + 10% performance based bonus. Industry is HRIS, currently living in TX. Am I being compensated fairly? I've seen higher numbers for PMs, but not sure if experience is the differentiator. Thanks in advance!
