I’m the only person from my firm at the client site and having trouble connecting with people at client (people mostly just see me as an external “intruder”). General question: can you change the culture of a 4,000 personal organization in 3 months? I think you can set up a framework but real cultural change takes time. And Nov/Dec doesn’t seem like the ideal time to do it. I ask because trying to find a way to present this to my boss with proof points.
The consulting services teams of big tech (Microsoft, Google, Salesforce, etc) seem like obvious entry points for consultants due to relevant experience, but they get little attention here. Why is that? Do those roles lack good pay, advancement opportunities or better WLB vs working for a consultancy? Do they have the same focus on firm initiatives, utilization and BD/sales as consulting firms?

Got to final round at McKinsey in January this year, didn't get an offer but got added to the Keep in Touch list, and the recruiter said I got good feedback but to wait a year before applying again. I am so grateful to have a job right now but I am really struggling. I’ve been at D for a little under a year and have been really unhappy with my experience. In particular, my current project and my direct supervisor make me feel unbelievably incompetent and under appreciated. Given COVID, there is little flexibility to roll off. I’ve tried to stick it through but I’m at a breaking point. Any suggestions on how to make the best of it? Or next steps?
