Has anyone ever successfully had two full-time jobs at once? Seems possible now that everything is remote. My current gig is long-term freelance, and it’s been pretty easy hours lately. Just got offered a new in-house role that boasts great work/life balance.

How do you handle being double booked in meetings?

Apparently, people are doing it! https://www.forbes.com/sites/jackkelly/2021/08/15/the-remote-trend-of-working-two-jobs-at-the-same-time-without-both-companies-knowing/?sh=3fac4d3e17f3

I freelanced for my current job at the end of my last one. That was a lucrative two weeks

I'm doing it now. It works better when you have 2 not urgent jobs. If you're going on production, or doing high pressure deadlines, I wouldn't recommend it.

At my job now 90% is just writing social post copy and attending a couple meetings a day. I feel like I could totally handle another job on top of it, my biggest worry is if I got double booked in meetings or things suddenly got really crazy from both jobs at the same time

It helps if one is flexible enough to do at night if you need to. I have a full time job and like four freelance clients and I wouldn’t be able to do it without my freelance clients being down with me working at night. It’s still pretty stressful but I like the money.

Thought experiment: Say you're exiting strategy consulting, looking at the typical opps and the crazy comp that comes with them. Then, all of a sudden, a corporate role comes up (strategy/finance/marketing etc.) in something you're 1000% passionate about. Slower sector, smaller company, lower prestige/trajectory, but you LOVE the product and industry (say a job at Specialized for a devout cyclist, or Activision Blizzard for the gamers). Would you go for it?

Would you leave a big 4 to go to smaller company? This is in consulting. At current company on partner track but could be 5-7 years and at smaller company ($1b rev) it would be 1-2 years. Partner comp is similar (top Partner obviously make alot more at big4). 75% raise. Lobe my current company and team. Nervous company is too small and staff may be lesser skilled. Would you move? Nothing is guaranteed of course on Partner track. Would you only leave if it's Partner role not just MD?

I am not from the US and taxes overwhelm me; the first few years I did them with TurboTax and it was fine but then I entered a domestic partnership and had a baby. I also bought a house (that I don’t live in), so I went to H&R Block to give it a try assuming they could advise me on optimizing my return, it seemed that they are completely transactional as the person is just typing numbers in a form.
