Hi Axtrians,
Just wanted to know from other Axtrians, how is the WLB in their current project?
Is it like you have to look over at multiple tasks/handle different tasks at the same time(as an Analyst)?
Is it normal in Axtria to not have adequate resources in the projects, running projects on less number of resources to cut cost, leaving the project vulnerable and making it difficult to plan holidays?
Do you all have tight deadlines as well?

1. My current position started as contract. The only frustrating thing was it took them forever to pull the trigger and officially offer me the job.
2. After 60 days, I think, benefits were made available to me through the agency that got me the gig. They were expensive and shitty. So I passed.
3. I was on a W-2 through the aforementioned agency.

5. I don't love contract/freelance. I'm not a fan of the constant hustle to find work. Honestly, I really only did it to get out of a toxic work environment and because it was positioned as "contract to hire." Otherwise, I've always preferred perm full-time positions.

1. I’ve had several contract PM roles and for the most part, they’re great but with some caveats. It’s hard when they are longer term roles and you feel like part of the team, except when you’re very much NOT (holiday parties, bonuses, retreats etc). BUT the perk of contract work is that the hourly rate is typically much higher than if you were a salaried employee (bc they don’t have to pay for any of your benefits). Right now I make far and above the most I’ve ever made even with paying for insurance myself.
2. No, although vacation is flexible and paid (this is most likely due to my team though, and was not the case at past employers). My staffing company provides insurance plan options that I pay for and I don’t have life insurance/disability etc.
3. I’ve had several contract roles and all were through recruitment agencies that provide a W-2.
4. Not my current one as there has to be a strong justifiable business case, however I’ve been converted at previous jobs within a few months. It really depends on the company and whether they typically like to contract-to-hire. Many big co do these days bc they can kind of “try out” someone before converting.
5. Sure! It depends on where you’re at in your career, what you’re looking for, do you like to move around for new opps etc. I’m ready to settle in as an FTE somewhere but contracting has especially been great over COVID (a lot of openings!).
