Has anyone ever took a new position, and immediately regretted it? How do you deal with wishing you could go back to your old job, when you can’t (they found a replacement)?

If there is nothing you can do to change it, you just have to move forward. Give yourself a chance to acclimate to the new job. Maybe you will like it better with time. If not and you can't go back to your previous job, get the resume dusted off and start looking. Best of luck to you.

I feel totally blindsided by the interview I just had. I talked informally with Partner 1 before the interview and was told the position would be in one of the firm’s satellite offices. Then, during an interview with Partner 1 and Partner 2, Partner 2 mentioned that I’d have to move to the state where the firm is headquartered because he believes face-time is really important for training/mentoring. I have no plans to move and really hope this wasn’t all a huge waste of time.

Has anyone here (or anyone you know) done FDD at a mid-sized firm? I see an opportunity, but don't know about exit opps. Also curious about range of hours, travel requirements, etc.

First time poster here!

After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. My goal was always to get into a more broad HRBP position, but I've since worked for smaller orgs without a solid HR career path. When I ask about my career goals, they keep telling me, "Soon!" Or "Maybe in 6 months!"

I'm testing SPHR in June. Any advice for securing the type of role I'm aiming for?

Hello, I am looking to make a career change that starts at a minimum 75K salary. The economy is tough right now and I can no longer afford to stay in my current role. I have a bachelors degree in Sociology with experience in managed care, utilization management, & clinical admin.. Does anyone have any suggestions for a possible higher paying career that I would be qualified for based on my background?

What level of base/total comp could one expect for titles like ”head of xyz”(where xyz is a business-related field like strategy&ops, biz dev, marketing, partnership, etc.) at a well-funded series A (let’s say ~$20-25M)? I’ve seen some peers with 3YOE at MBB exit to “head of xyz” positions at series A or B startups, even though they may be a one-man team at the moment despite the “head” title.
