Loops and vectorization 😉
Simulation goes hand in hand with showing potential outcomes and evaluating risk. That's a whole ocean of more specific use cases, from simple What If analysis in Excel to heavy duty Bayesian statistics. And those lend themselves to applications in literally any field.

I used:
- simmer in r for estimating wait times at ski resorts
- @risk + solver for financial modeling/lightweight ops problems in grad school
- Monte Carlo for estimating my retirement funds
- some other discrete event simulation in grad school (Arena I think) for optimizing shipments and inventory.
Generally I view simulation and optimization as super fun but I’m no expert.
Platypus, a genetic optimization package for Python. Used it for multi objective optimization of force architecture to inform budgetary decisions.

I saw Google's or-tools have a page but haven't delved into these yet.

I was just flipping through the OR tools page. They made the cvrp problems super simple. Very cool.
Used excel tool for simulations to solve Op Researxh problems
Used Monte Carlo simulation as well to come up with modeling priors
