Has anyone ever worked at a startup that had a lot of issues getting funding? I feel like it would be smart to look for a new job but if I stay and we get the funding I get a big raise and promotion

The way I see it was you took the start up job knowing the risk reward dynamic. Don’t quit so soon just because you’re still in the risk part.

I did. For me leaving was the right move. They never secured additional funding after my departure. Was a learning opportunity, but I’d never work for another startup again after that experience.

A few considerations: - How often are they doing rounds of funding? Higher frequency (plus struggle to secure) indicates they may be struggling OR owners have an outsized/non-market supported view on their value - what is the type of funding (prefs, debt, common, etc)? Debt or debt like funding (prefs with a cumulative, fixed dividend solely payable in cash) would seem to indicate higher risk - how financially secure are you? Could you weather a few months without a job? If not, seems advisable to secure your future - how much cash remaining does the company have? This one is like pretty straightforward - have they done layoffs before due to funding? If so, what was the severance package like? Decent severance package indicates staying may be the right call Lots to consider. Don’t envy your position

Also, all of the Big 4 and a lot of mid-size are actively hiring. Could be a solid safety net to consider

I was at a start up. We had capital allocated to us and had cash forecasting. Did allocated capital run out? It sounds like you may not be near those discussions

I will also say, for me, near the C-Level was the most fun place to be during a time like that at a start up. You get to see good moves and mistakes - and possibly pick up on some way above pay grade work.

Trying to get past it, while aiming to excel in new team but finding it hard to voice my thoughts/opinions given previous experience. [Marketing Tech] What is a reasonable raise expectation when being promoted? Internally, I’ve seen raises range from 15%-30% for base salary. *not including bonus* and these % remain around the same for jumps between Associate->Manager->Sr.Manager Anyone have any input? Much appreciated!

There's a lot of backstory to this but I can only type so much SO I've been with my company for 10.5 hours and just found out they've increased their base pay for starting employees $3-5/hr. I have received my annual 3-4% raises, only because I always make sure to ask for it, but nothing more. They didn't even acknowledge my 10 year anniversary with the company and it's a pretty small company (less than 100 employees). I feel I should get a $3-5/hr raise since the base pay was raised. Thoughts?

If someone can verify this? I have seen so many posts here and on Quora too, that TCS release the salary structure breakup after the interview rounds, but do not send the offer letter, even after acceptance of salary. The HR person won't deny you on the face, but keep on delaying that offer letter release would take time. Is this true? Do a reputed company like TCS make such fake promises or raise false hopes in candidates?

I reached out to a BCG partner through cold email. Without chatting with me, the partner connected me with a recruiter. The recruiter offered to chat and answered any questions I have but didn’t ask too much abt my background. At the end of the conversation, she said something like “lmk when you apply and I will keep an eye out for you. “The partner definitely didn’t put a referral in cuz she still doesn’t know me yet. Should I let a friend of mine at BCG refer me then let the recruiter?
