Has anyone ever worked in healthcare advertising or PR? Is it true that it’s hard to get out of pharma once you’re in it? Say you want to work on consumer brands later.

I am project manager in clinical research industry (CRO). After earning PhD, I gave up my science dream to take a more stable job. How does anyone break into pharma/ health care? It’s impossible!

I don’t have many years of of experience on paper (graduated college 5 years ago) but I constantly get told that I operate at a level far above my title. My art partner left to be an ACD somewhere else and she wants to recommend me as her partner, INSISTS that she knows I can do it (and she isn’t the type to exaggerate).
