Not sure if this is the right bowl but I am slightly concerned that a friend has started taking steroids over quarantine. He has always had a strict bodybuilding routine and diet. Started lifting 7 years ago and suddenly gained 20lbs of muscle and got super cut in ~4mo even with gyms closed in LA. Also needs viagra on a regular basis now. He claims the only thing he’s changed is starting IF but I’m not buying it... he keeps saying I wouldn’t know because I’m F and our bodies are different.

Has anyone tried a meal delivery service while at the client? Any recommendations? I'm considering Freshly and splendid spoon.

Advice would be appreciated —- I currently found out that a coworker who is with the same sub contractor as I was offered to interview for a sec analyst role. The individual was hired a week after me, doesn’t have a clearance yet, only a bachelors in IT, and first tech job. While I hold 2 degrees one of which is a MS in Cyber and a clearance. Im being told I need to wait a few months and an additional cert. All he did was complain and threatened to leave. What would you do?

Hi Guys! How is Deloitte UK? In particular, the London office! Anyone working there or having any insights about their pay scale and WLB?

I can hear my downstairs neighbors fighting about being tired and having to work and take care of their child (3 yr old). They are both WFH but I think the stay at home order is causing some stress. My wife and I (no kids) want to help but don’t know the etiquette...

Seeing wayyy more open jobs at BBH than, like, ever. What's the deal? They win something recently? Opinions about working there welcome as well!

Looking for some insight into the Director of Content role some orgs have.

It seems that having in-house DoCs is a recent development triggered by developments in the digital world and its been co-opted for marketing objectives, but where did the role come from historically? Agency world? Journalism/news world? Entertainment world? Marketing world?

What are the different ways you've seen orgs structure the role? Under Creative? Lateral to creative? Something else? Which way is best?

Additional Posts in Career Pivot

Just wanted to tell y'all that it's possible. In August I celebrated my 2 year anniversary as an office admin. Prior to this, I had spent 10 years working at various hotels as a front office clerk (read horrible schedule, minimal benefits and a near abusive work environment)
I now have the things I wanted, been trained further and I am looking forward to what I can do next. My future seems brighter and I want that so much for others. Please keep pushing and trust that you can!

Need advice. What would u do in the situation of being in a position for 4-5 years, requesting a transition to a senior title. Ur manager said they are working on the story line to present so that it would be possible. U have earned multiple certifications, showed interest in new projects, took on new responsibilities, and automating some of your responsibilities. To be told, it doesnt look like it’s in ur cards for next year. But they are moving mountains for ur coworker - who does the same job

You may be one step away from your next big win/celebration/job/promotion/new role… don’t give up. Keep pushing and making positive efforts.

Are you an introvert? What career are you excelling in?

Background in photography, marketing and real estate/ property management. Have been applying for more lucrative positions across the 3 fields for awhile. Zero interest in my resume. Anyone else feel like they’re hitting a wall? Almost like throwing resumes into the wind. Can’t even get an interview. Not sure what is happening… HR fatigue? Pseudo fake job postings? I’m using indeed and LinkedIn. Have tried ziprecruiter as well. I’ve applied on company websites directly. Nothing.

Nothing like adding a bit of **flair** to your answer for the job interview question “please provide an example about a time you did XYZ” 🧚🏻✨

I am currently in the hospitality industry and have been for 10+ years.. Looking to change to a role that has a little more work-life balance so I can focus on my personal life more. I have a work experience in most things that involve a running business (HR, marketing, sales, maintenance, management, etc) looking to hone in on some of these skills. Trying to get out of being a jack of all trades and more of an expert in a few skills. Not sure where to start.. Any recommendations?

Thinking of pivoting into a Data Analyst role. For reference- I’m currently a staff accountant on a team that handles the overall financial management- including financial statements, internal/external audits, and variance analysis and research for another government entity. Very research based and analytical.

Could data analysis be a reasonable career pivot?

Looking to hire a good resume writer. Switching from Big4 Tax to Consulting.
Hopefully in technology or Investing Banking. Those are my 2 greatest interests.
Any good recommendations welcome! Thanks!

Has anyone here transitioned from Recruiting to L&D?

I keep thinking that my next step needs to be something that keeps people in my firm once they come in, but I don’t know how to sell that to my leaders when I’m competing against actual educators.

Hi everyone, hope you’re all doing well. I had my probation today and it has been extended. Should I be worried about it? I’m going to ask my line manager the specifics so hopefully that will be useful. It’s slightly daunting as I haven’t had this before.

I've worked as an HR Generalist and Business Partner for over 15 years, and I'm ready to do something else. I have some pretty significant experience in compensation and I'd like to pivot into a role that's focused there. I know there are some certifications available through SHRM and World at Work - any thoughts from those in Comp whether these would compliment hands on work experience and if they might improve my chances of getting noticed for a role in Comp?

Hey everyone. I’m interested in applying to Venture for America (VFA) this year as a fellow. Is anyone in this bowl a current fellow, team member, or alumni from VFA willing to refer me, please? I can send over my resume and anything else. Thanks.

Any financial advisors on here that want to connect and share their experience in their role so far? I’d like to learn about what to expect before committing to studying for the CFA.

Anyone pivot to tech sales from a different industry? What was your experience?

Currently have six years of financial services experience and am with a F75 company. I get a base salary and discretionary bonus of 12.5%-25% but when i budget/forecast that out it bums me out that’s all i can make given i take my career very seriously and want to work hard. Think i need something more incentive driven. are there any other career paths that are heavily driven by incentives and don’t have a ceiling (in theory) besides sales?

Question to the bowl -

I am working in Deloitte PMO Analyst with cumulative work ex 2.5 years. I want to move to Program Management in FAANG. But for all the posts I see work ex is more than 3 years with an MBA. So, Should I go for an MBA first or should I apply for the same roles. I am mainly aiming Amazon.
