Another option is finding a role that’s aligned to the software and platforms industry, whether that’s in accounting/finance outside or in house at those companies. I do consulting for this industry and my clients, for the most part, really push to protect their personal hours, which extends to our teams. (There are of course a few outliers in the industry with bad WLB)

I need some inputs on if I should pursue a MBA. Goal that I would use MBA for is getting into VC, only a undergrad internship in that space, or doing a search fund and like micro PE. I would consider corporate VC too. Alternative is to focus on meetups to meet founders, getting a better job and hit the accredited investor status so I can invest with angels. Undergrad was a top business school, so I feel strong with finance and other functions.

At a former company, they let you expense $20 for working 10+ hours in a day, but you could never use it because it would always be rejected. Recently started at a new firm, and I had a rough week last week (two 14+ hour days). New firm has a similar policy, so I asked. Was told not to submit the $20 reimbursements. Just as I was about to get frustrated, he told me I should get dinner for my wife and me. Only rule was to keep it under $100. Don't like working 14 hour days, but this was nice.

Which career path will u choose for yourself and why? Options - 1) CXO of large tech co., like FAANG 2) partner with b4/mbb 3) CXO of a unicorn - like stripe or what Facebook was in 2006/2007, with a huge upside when it goes public 4) start a company of ur own that has a decent shot of becoming successful. All the options will make u rich and yes u only have 4 options.
