Easier to become a remote freelancer, build up a client base, and then just travel while you work. I did that for a year living in Italy then in South America.
I worked with a dude who was born in the UK, grew up in Australia and married to an American... Basically he could go anywhere in the work and work legally
Only time was in Australia / New Zealand on the working holiday visa. It’s the only two countries that Americans can do the working holiday visa on. You have to be under 30. I haven’t seen other countries be able to allow you to work without work sponsorship...I assume you could find countries that have a more lenient / low term tourist visa but that’s a little dodgier / under the table
What nationality are you? Go to your local consulate and try to get citizenship for your parents. Then you can get it for yourself. Then you can work in the EU as a citizen.
Should have mentioned, American. I’ve worked abroad full time so the visa was part of the job, and worked remotely while abroad. But I’d love to be able to pick up freelance agency work outside of the US without a ton of paperwork. Thought maybe there was a way to bill as a vendor rather than an employee, perhaps, or some other loopholes people have found. But it’s starting to seem like the easiest way is to pick a country first and figure it out, and then hope someone hires you. Thanks all!
SAD 1 - so, be that dude. 😂
@OP you may be able to get European citizenship for tour parents. Ask the consulate that relates to your heritage. Even if you're third gen it could happen.
Not an option CW1.
Did you look/try? Might be surprised.
