Has anyone from Accenture actually gotten their eggs frozen? What's the process?

I'm not with Accenture, but I did two rounds last year and very glad I did. 🐣 I so wish more women would consider it.

So this is all still very new. The science is progressing and changing every day, especially as it applies to healthy women. Most of the collected data is still from IVF patients going in with fertility issues. That said ... My dr said statistics are starting to suggest 36-37 is about when it starts to financial/statistical sense (i.e. the likelihood of meeting someone/trying before you have actual fertility issues vs the ability to still store good eggs - fingers crossed the insurance companies eventually figure that out!!). On the flip side- the younger you are the better the eggs, but higher risk you're throwing a lot of money at a problem you'll never actually have. Talk to your dr for sure. There are variables that'll be unique to you. I was 36.

Glad to share! A freezing cycle is identical to a round of IVF. The only difference is that you pause (freeze) the eggs mid-way through. So, all the hormone injections, blood tests every 48 hours, and then the egg retrieval. Two rounds means two rounds of all of that. Depending on which protocol you're on, it's roughly 4-8 weeks. I also had a bunch of other tests and then needed to get some other hormone levels optimize before I could start any of that. Your age will help dictate how many eggs they want you to freeze for reasonable probability (the science just isn't there for certainty) you can get a baby out of it. Not all the eggs will survive freezing, not all survive defrosting, fertilize, etc etc. It's not an insurance policy because there's no guarantee, but for me I wanted to preserve every chance.

Hi SA1 - could you please let us know what you mean by two rounds ?

Thanks for sharing that ! Very helpful. What is the optimum age to have the eggs frozen ? How old are you if you don't mind me asking.

Thanks for sharing! Interested to see benefits from Accenture/insurance and how to go about that. I called up Aetna before and they said it's not part of the 20k in a lifetime allowance because it's elective. I heard someone was able to get it elective though.

Another thing to consider depending on your beliefs - freezing embryos using donor sperm, not just eggs. Hearing too many depressing stories of egg freezing failures. I know now if several girlfriends who only got a dozen or so eggs after a couple of stimulation rounds and after 2, 3 years later, none fertilized. If you know you really want children and don't want to risk it, embryos have a better chance of making it.

I'm a consultant working directly with an analyst and Principal. The principal has told me he would like me to act as the engagement manager for this project. The analyst pushes Back so hard on all my asks - it's difficult to manage. Getting frustrated- I feel like he doesn't value my opinion? Today i reminded him of a task he owns and his response was "good on you for remembering that". I ended up doing it myself. Kicking myself because I feel like I set up a bad precedent. Advice?
