Has anyone partially funded college for their children with Roth IRA withdrawals? I think withdrawals for education expenses are not subject to penalties for early withdrawal. Did your children get "penalized" when applying for scholarships because their parents had Roth IRAs to fund some college expenses? Considering routing 529 contributions to a Roth IRA. If my children don't go to college, at least I have more retirement savings.

Retirement accounts DO NOT get added to your FAFSA application. I think this is a great strategy.

Thank you! My kids are nowhere near college age but I was just trying to see if there is a better option thank 529s. Just in case one them decides not to go to college.

I think the two reasons people would generally say not to do this are 1) that your Roth IRA contributions are capped at $6k and that isn't enough for both and 2) best to keep them separate for simplified planning

At KPMG you can do mega backdoor which likely eliminates #1 as a concern. #2 can be tracked so I think it makes a lot of sense.

I had always assumed Roth IRA should be prioritized over 529 given it has much greater flexibility and I didn’t think retirement accounts were included on FAFSA, but curious to see what others have to say.

Yup....paid for my kid's first 2.5 years of college with my 529

A few months ago I interviewed for a trading position. I recently received the job offer and the title doesn’t match the job description I applied for (it doesn’t have the word “trader”), though they insist that job responsibilities haven’t changed. Has anyone struggled with Apple recruiters taking forever to schedule interviews? The hiring manager loved me and the recruiter asked for more interview times but it’s been 3 days and nothing has been scheduled. They did the same thing after the phone screening as well…. And during that initial phone call I was basically told I’d be done interviewing by this week but now all of a sudden it’s 3-4 weeks from now??

Seems like a disconnect between HR and the actual hiring teams…

I've just recently been hired as an assistant manager at a Canadian outlet store. It's a small company in comparison to others, but there are over 10 locations spanning western Canada and NW united states. I'm curious as to what others in a similar position are getting as salary. I was offered $42k plus bonuses at the interview, but when called back I was offered $44.5k plus bonuses. I already accepted. Did I leave money on the table here?

I have had several rounds of interviews for a role at Visa London office. When I reached out to the HR to check on progress/status after what they called the "final round", they said everything is positive and then set up another round with the hiring manager last week. TBH, that round seemed as if they want to make sure I have understood the job well. And there has been radio silence after that. Any idea how to read this? I have another offer and deliberating if i should just accept that.
