I gave one week with a previous job. It wasn’t really a negotiation I just told them I wouldn’t be back after X date. Went well
Give 2 weeks if possible. Tell new company that you want to help transition out so you need 2 weeks. They should understand as they would expect the same when you leave
I gave 2 weeks with the second week being pre-planned vacation I'd informed everyone of prior. I had to make a quick transition as I was planning on moving cities for my new job immediately after vacation and my manager asked if I needed extra time to prepare. I said yes, they were fine with me leaving only 1 day into my 2 weeks (I had already prepped my handover info over the few days prior) and I left with a great intact relationship w my manager and team
Only time I've ever filed a two weeks, but if the reasoning is justified and you've prepped significantly to ease the transition, I don't know why not
Tbh, two weeks isn’t enough time in industry for HR to recruit a qualified replacement so the exact amount of time doesn’t matter so much (2-weeks is the general tradition). I’d just be glad the employee let me know as soon as they were comfortable with so I could start making plans to manage their workload
