Has anyone gotten through Target Test Prep Quant section within a month? I got through the essential skills module so far and wondering how long the rest will take/how I should time it out before taking the GMAT

If you complete every quiz, it takes about 3-4 months—-assuming you’re still working full time.

^Agreed, it’s an absolute grind to get through, but it works. I’m not naturally good at math, so I finished the full thing, and got a 49 Q first attempt (but a 690). To anyone starting out—FOCUS ON VERBAL bc that’s where you boost your score. I spent about a month on TTP sentence correction + OG Test bank and went from 35 V to 45 V second attempt (730).

Took me 4 months to get ~90% completion doing 1-2 hours a day

I did it in just under 5 weeks but didn’t take all the quizzes. I’d just do a few medium and few hard quizzes from each section. I went back at the end and took more quizzes from each section for a few days.

Want to add, that I probably would’ve been fine with studying less. I don’t think you need 80 hours if you already know most of the concepts. I def did some overkill on areas I knew previously

Trying to exit into FAANG but know it may be a long shot involving a handful of rejections. Meanwhile got approached by a number of recruiters for a) smaller emerging startup <but need to shift geo>, and b) major banks for in-house strategy. I’ll proceed with interviews with a) since it will give me a flavour of tech recruiting, but should I even go through with interview process for b)? Thoughts? Fyi, have not interviewed in 4+ years!

Your yearly reminder that if you’d bought the DJIA in 1929 you didn’t become profitable in real terms until 1955. It wasn’t just WW2. If you’d bought the DJIA at the beginning of 1966 you lost almost 75% to inflation over two decades and didn’t recover in real terms until 1995. You’d have made nothing between JFK’s death and Clinton’s second term. We are in a particularly weird period of “stonks only go up” but remember those 8% returns over the long run mask generation-defining risks.

This one is for the moms: my husband and I are trying to conceive and I’m wondering what life will look like once we have a baby. I have a job where I work completely from home/remote, and I’m wondering if I will need childcare services of some kind. Is it possible for me to handle taking care of a baby while working a full-time job from home? Is it crazy to think I can do this myself? I’d like to think, if it’s necessary, I could adjust my work hours and do a little when my husband gets home.

I know the usual advice for saving is emergency fund - 401k up to match - max IRA - max 401k - HSA?/personal brokerage. However, where does saving for a house deposit and car deposit (want used but only ~2-3 yrs old) fit in? I’m 26, 100k salary and have been trying to put away 3k per month into HYSA/emergency fund, was maxing 401k at ~$800 per pay period (lowered to $400 a month a few months ago since no firm match and would like to put $ into HYSA/house/car fund), and $500/month to max IRA.

I have been 😂😂😂 all morning all by myself. So, I started taking out my sew in cause this summer heat is killing me. I was about to take down the closure when I suddenly remembered that I had to be on a video call for work. So, I just brushed the closure and positioned myself in front of the camera as if I still have the full hair do. Front view is 💯. Back view is 🙈😂😂😂. When have you all had to improvise while WFH?
