Did you tell the admin explicity what you wanted booked? Did the flights/hotels have availability?
It's literally their job. They want to get it right if they can.🤦♀️
It takes a while to break an admin in so they get what your preferences are, assuming they are at least competent in the first place. I always have a hard time letting that breaking in period happen instead of just taking over and doing it myself. I’m picky.
Yea I think this is part of it after booking weekly travel for a few years.
Plus their were some mix ups with point accounts which was kinda understandable but annoying bc I know I could’ve done it faster and better… also don’t really see the benefits of figuring this out bc I’m gone in 10 wks
Many companies have admins handle travel arrangements for their interns since they are more likely to mess up. The nice part about it is not dealing with expenses.

Yup. I book all my own travel these days, but I've worked places where I had an admin or had central booking.
I prefer to book on my own.
At my first job out of college, the CEO was pretty corrupt, and he liked to do things that were questionably legal. He required everyone in the company to book travel through his buddy. Why? Because his buddy was the only person he trusted with his Amex and he wanted to keep all of the credit card points.
It was so bad that he'd screw up even when given a specific flight and hotel. I had to fly into YYZ (Toronto) for a client, and this guy must've thought he could find a better price by flying me into YVR (Vancouver). He sent me the confirmation, and I gently told him that I wasn't really up for an extra four hours in the air and 41 hours in the car, and he still tried to get me to confirm this ludicrous itinerary.
I eventually decided it was worth whatever consequence there were to just book myself.
I had the same experience. Its easier to book yourself.
