Rejected Amazon offer for better WLB and $. But I started this new role and quickly feel that the job is very different than its job description. Thinking about looking for a new role.
How can I have Amazon take me back? The offer is effective for 6 months, right? I do know the role I was offered had been filled.
Happy to go through the interview process again for a different role with Amazon, but what I should say about starting my current role for only one month? Amazon
BCG final round interview in a week. Any tips on what to expect in a partner level conversation?
- how is it different than the round 1 experience?
- how important is the casing component? I'm doing pretty well, but not perfect. Friends have been eating me 8/10, with the need to improve structure and be more top down in my communication. I'm wondering what I can do to improve that in a week and if that will be a deal breaker on interview day?

Not so much an interview tip question, but more a timeline question. Have applied for a role at Deloitte on July 11. The status of my application on the portal has since been updated to “shortlisted” on July 20. I haven’t heard anything about the status of my application other than the updates on the portal. When should I expect to get an update about next steps? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I’m also based in Melbourne, Australia.

I’ve had companies go quiet at all stages of the process, even after what I thought was a great interview. I’ve had interviewers close a convo saying we were going to the next step and I’ll receive the invite shortly, then nothing, or a rejection letter.
I feel like people just don’t want to feel awkward by saying they would not be moving forward, or are afraid of any sort of confrontation. I wish there was more coaching in this area for people who conduct interviews. At the very least, don’t be falsely positive. Some folks are relying on feedback, and get overly optimistic. Then it’s horrible when they aren’t chosen.
I sent a thank you note after my last interview and didn’t receive a reply. Also, I haven’t heard back and it’s been a week.
Same. Had a fantastic phone screen, was super excited about the company and opportunity. Was told the hiring manager name and that I'd receive a scheduling invite for an initial video interview in the coming days. It's been 2 weeks. I have other opportunities on the table so I'm not stressing about it.
I will say as someone in a hiring manager position, I may have led to the same happening to others. Our recruiter found a few candidates, did a phone screen, loved them and I'm sure indicated they'd be in a next step interview soon, but when she sent the resume to me, I shot it down without allowing an interview to be added to my calendar. They may have been lovely people but didn't meet certain requirements that I couldn't budge on for the sake of our team and company- our recruiter was fairly new and thought all my initial requirements provided were just suggestions or me "being picky."
Regardless they got rejection letters shortly after the phone screens that supposedly went well.
This is great context, thanks for sharing this insight
