No, and I wouldn’t take too kindly to being micromanaged like that!
If they present something worth doing there won't be an issue.

As for me, I would prefer a high-quality online and self-paced module/unit accessible in the online setting.
It could also be designed to include interaction and collaboration whether online or InPerson.
That type of condescending micromanagement would never fly here.
No and Y’all gave them up?
Right? Um yeah you’re not getting my phone. That’s crazy. 🙄
Seriously……
Respect me as a grown educator!
No this would never fly here in NY.
Would not even be taken as a serious request here in New Jersey. Staff would be like “Yeah—that’s a good one” and just continue on….
No, that’s kinda ridiculous.
I wish they would 😐
No, but we are expected to have them on silent mode during meetings.
That is reasonable.
Also I take notes 📝 on my phone.
Nope and I wouldn't have allow it. I have children and if they need me in an emergency they contact me on my phone.
I use my phone to take notes, input dares that are coming up etc. Why would anyone take our phones away?
I have mine on silent- sometimes I or someone forgets, but it not a problem. If someone is doing something that is nir respectful or kind to the present or, then talk to that person. Don’t punishment everyone.
That would be a “No” for me!!
if we are not allowed to touch our student phones, then they better not try to take mine. (but I have a dumb phone) :)
Your responses to this post sound just like the high school students when their phones are taken up. 🤭 You and I both know teaching to teachers is the worst. They act just like their students. 🤣 It is rude to be on your phone in any meeting. Kids don't need 24 hour access to you. If it is an emergency, they will call the school. Take notes on a computer, not your phone, close the lid when discussing. Keep your cohorts in check. And for goodness sakes, just pay attention and participate in meetings. We don't know everything!

I agree. And as an educated professional we should act as such.
I wouldn't give it to her.

It was presented as modeling the 6-8 classroom— outdated still!
