Very unlikely tbh

Are you healthy otherwise? Do you eat a lot of fresh vegetables and exercise regularly? Those are probably the easiest best ways to stay healthy from anything. Hope you feel better soon.

Get your booster, preferably mRNA! Everyone with J&J is eligible in the US now.

It is always possible you caught a variant, however it’s very unlikely you would already be feeling symptoms less than two days after exposure.

like

Unlikely, but now you’re even more protected with natural immunity

Based on this Israel study, it seems to be stronger and last longer than the vaccines, no? Am I misreading? https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.08.24.21262415v1

Do you think COVID is the only reason people would have fever?

like

There are many diseases/viruses that are not COVID.

The flu season is strong this year. Are you sure is not flu?

Just curious: why would you get tested over a light fever, especially if you’re vaccinated and therefore immune anyway?

Unless your mom has been holed up in the house and hasn’t left there in the last 18 months, she has already been exposed to covid multiple times, masks don’t protect against exposure

Because (most of the) vaccines aren't 100%?

I just got my first vaccine shot 2 weeks ago. Until then have been living my life normally, usually no mask (as is normal in our reddish state). I tested negative for COVID and antibodies but must have been exposed dozens of times. Never got it. Probably because I spend a lot of time, money and energy on my health. I eat well, no junk food/soda/processed food, eat lots of fresh greens, exercise 5 days a week and make sure I get 8 hours of sleep. In my own experience, keeping a healthy constitution was sufficient to not get COVID. I am just one test subject so I’m not saying this works for everyone. (And most people would not like my whole-foods based largely vegetarian diet either.) Just sharing my story for context. Viva la human immune system! (If you really take care of it aggressively.)

I have a brief resume gap from near the beginning of covid but have been at a new employer for >1 year. I’ve been asked about said gap during in-house interviews, but it’s generally been cursory and I give the explanation agreed upon by former employer. Was pressed a bit harder recently by being asked “will x former employer confirm [the story]?” Is this in and of itself a bad sign? Are they trying to catch a lie?

I’ve smoked unfiltered Pall Mall for 14 years and two months. Before COVID I’d smoke 1/2 ppd. During COVID I’ve spiked to 2 ppd and sometimes smoke during video conference calls. Now my lungs need breathing room, but I can’t find a low-tar, low-nicotine cigarette that gives me rich tobacco flavor. Any suggestions?

The guy I’m dating (dating for 1 month, exclusive for 2 weeks) went to test for COVID because he feels sick and wants to postpone his deferred exam. His result came back negative today and he told me that he would try to use an app to change the results so that the university will postpone the exam. I consider this to be a red flag because this sounds like a serious personal integrity issue regardless if he succeeds in doing it or not. He might cheat on other things. What do you think?

Everyone minimizing the severity of Coronavirus and saying the death rate is "only" ~3%, just imagine somebody saying the same thing about 9/11. Only about 3000 died (immediately).

Any doctors here? Hoping to interpret whether this LabCorp test means I had COVID (suspected late December) or just am reflecting recent mRNA booster (late November)
