Looks like so many tax compliance folks are trying to get into International Tax, M&A tax, Accounting Advisory, or Tax Technology. Are these areas really more prestigious and more fun, or the trend will be gone in a few years? Thoughts?

God, I want to quit so bad sometimes, like right now. I really despise this big law life. But other than starting your own business, nothing pays as ridiculously as big law. Not easy to walk away since I have immediate and extended fam that $$ depend on me. Also came from a poor upbringing and the idea of not showing my future kids the better things in life that I only got to enjoy as an adult eats at me. Not sure how much longer I can hang in there though.

Hi! I need some help negotiating a raise. I have been working for this company for exactly 3 months now, but I was hired as an AGM. I'm not specific on what my responsibilities are as AGM.
However the GM at the time, quit 1 and a half months in. I was thrown into the role and have been handling it since.
My regional calls himself our GM but is never on site.
Was reluctant to cover my shifts when I became sick and requested time off for a few days. (4 days)
