I just received word that we made it to blastocyst stage! Huge relief since our first round of IVF resulted in a big fat 0.
In my situation, all three of my eggs reached blastocyst stage on day 6, and embryologist assured me this is good news. I did get grading the day they froze them to ship off to PGT testing, one is a 6BB and two are 5BB…my doctor says B is for Beautiful. Again filling me with hope and optimism that these are a chance for us to achieve a healthy pregnancy in the near future.
So while none of my eggs were day 5 blasts, it sounds like day 6 isn’t necessarily bad news by comparison?

Thanks, I will update this thread tomorrow afternoon as I have an appointment with my doctor to discuss these results.

Day 5 blastocyst vs. Day 6 blastocyst*
What’s on your mind? You mean success with implantation of Day 5 vs Day 6?
No difference between day 5 or 6 but implantation is a whole different conversation. Not everyone is successful the first try with a euploid, age and other health condition are sometimes factors.

I’ve read there’s no difference between day 5 and day 6 outcomes.

My RE told me that there is not a strong difference between day 5 and day 6. Only when it comes to day 7, success rates drop off.

Update: my RE said that day 5 blastocysts are a little better than day 6 blastocysts, but the primary factor that should be looked at is if they're genetically normal (from PGT-A testing).
