You need to emphasize a desire to "partner closely with clients" /"identify and manage risk"/ "broaden your skillset by delving deep into [client's] industry" / be a bit more of a generalist. Focus, at least in the interview, on what you can bring to them, not what they will teach you.
For your negotiations with your firm:
* can you stay on website?
* will you have ramp down time and ramp up time afterward?
* can you keep your benefits?
*are you authorized to practice law in the state client is in if it's a remote secondment?
* will your bonus be pro-rated or will you get "full hours" credits for the time you are with client?
* will it be 100% FT with client, not working for two competing masters?
* how will conflicts be handled/ will you be locked our of firm systems?
GL! My secondment was fantastic and led me join my secondment org FT. They paid for me to move to my home state. And then I got stock options that have ended up being worth more than a million bucks (tech, company IPO'd, yadda yadda). While my experience surely was not the norm, it was pretty forking amazing.
