Well, I was at 36 weeks and it was in person….but after I accepted the offer. 🤰 (always after.)

I hope everything works out well. I think the question shows we still have a long way to go.

In the US, companies pay for employees' healthcare, but maternity leave tends to be quite short. In Europe, the government pays for healthcare, but maternity leave tends to be quite long. Either way, what company would want to hire someone who's going to pop <6 months after joining, if they had other choices available? OP, just don't say anything about the pregnancy if you want to maximize your chances of getting hired

Try Deloitte unless that’s where you are right now lol

With most firms still doing virtual video interviews, I doubt interviewers would know you are pregnant unless you mention it.

I just accepted an offer and will be starting around 7.5 months pregnant. I told them as soon as I got the verbal. I Let them decide if they'd rather I start working for 6-8 weeks and then take leave or push my start date out. They preferred I start sooner and are offering me a generous paid leave. This is probably the craziest (hopefully not dumbest) thing I've done with my career but they've been so great throughout the process. As others have said, it still shows we have a long, long way to go.

I’m unable to focus on work and I keep dropping the ball on some projects. I hate to put this on my personal life but I’ve experienced three family deaths (including a parent) and a death of a good friend all within the last five months. I feel like I should have taken significant time off but I think now it’s too late with end of the year financials etc. Does anyone have any tips on how to bounce back up?

Moms, what is the standard etiquette and timing for your parents to come help out when you have a new born? I am due in April and we live in a small 2 bedroom apartment in NYC. Every one in the family wants to come to NYC and help when the baby is here and I’m grateful but I don’t want to get too overwhelmed trying to host people in this small space. I was thinking my parents could come for a couple weeks, leave and then my siblings can take turns? Thank you! Any advice will be appreciated

Just so much happiness and I need space to gush. My boyfriend is the most amazing man I’ve ever met. He makes me feel safe and loved and is absolutely crazy about me. We see each other a couple of times a week and it’s always super fun and peaceful and the sex and emotional connection is perfect. I’m so lucky to have met him in nyc and he tells me he feels lucky too. We’re discussing our future and having 3 kids together and I can’t wait to call him my husband and father of our gorgeous children

Looking for advice. I’ve secured a new job while on paternity leave from my current employer. I’ve lined up the transition between employers so I can give my two week notice once I’ve officially returned to work at my current employer. Should I consider giving them my notice before the end of my pat leave or wait until I finish it? I don’t want to burn any bridges with my current employer, nor do I want to disrupt the remainder of my leave.

Doing some benchmarking as we revisit our leave policy. Do any of your firms offer external career coaching for transitioning into / then back from parental leave? Any organizations you’d recommend or things you’ve found to be particularly helpful / successful? Thank you!

Went in for a scan yesterday because I was having spotting and cramping at 12 weeks. The OB saw fluid behind the baby’s neck and is referring us to see a high risk doctor immediately. NIPT was negative. I’m panicking. Have any of you been through this?

Creatives, if I send you resources you asked for in an email or Slack and your response is to ask me send it to the PM instead, I immediately view you as a precious child. Don’t be a child.

Has anyone exited out of consulting and changed geographies (countries)? How? Any tips? I'm from Latin America and would love to exit to a cushy job in Canada or Europe or something (visa is not a problem in my case). I'm thinking of asking here for recruiting/exec search firms that search ex consultants in my desired geographies.
