Has anyone had success with going part time as an auditor? Specifically a senior associate? How does it work? I want to go part time to be with my baby but not sure if it’s possible.

Hey everyone. I am not an ADHD consultant, but mom to a 6 year old who is very likely ADHD (we will be starting the diagnosis process soon). I wanted to hear from anyone who was also diagnosed as a young kid on any advice you have for me? Knowing what you do now, would you recommend meds for a 6 year old (if it comes to that)? What other solutions/therapies can I use with my kid? Please, any advice is welcome!

I recently had my first baby and I’m trying to be as practical as possible, I did not get a bunch of baby stuff I just got the essentials, I think they sell you too much unnecessary things. I do appreciate people showing affection with gifts but feel kids now a day are over gifted. Would it be taken wrong if I suggest that for birthdays and Christmas instead of toys people deposit whatever they were going to spend in my baby’s 529 account?

I work in a smaller town with less than 10,000 people and I just found out my shift schedule will be changing, and at least three days a week I'm working my kid's school drop-off time in the morning. Do you think it would be unprofessional to request that I run home in the morning, grab my kids and quickly drop them off at school or ask about making other tweaks to my schedule?

I have a governmental entity client in Texas that wants to offer 6 weeks of paid parental leave for all employees, even those who aren’t eligible for FMLA. After the paid 6 weeks, the employee can choose to continue paid leave using any accrued personal leave.

Texas does not have a paid parental leave statute.

If paid leave above what is required is offered for parents, do we also have to provide the same benefit to other employees that are eligible for unpaid leave?

I don’t want kids for numerous reasons (lack of freedom, long time commitment, emotionally unavailable, issues with communication, etc), but I really hope my brother has kids so I can be the cool uncle. I just want to spoil his kids and do fun things with them like once a month. Basically just get the fun parts of being a parent without the real responsibility

Due in August and planning to have my mother fly out to help with the baby and stay with us. She has been quarantining and is very careful but the flight is what concerns me. She lives far so driving isn’t an option and I really need the help. She plans to be careful but she’d be here with a newborn at the same time. Is it a bad idea?

Is it normal for Managers have to take on roles both as a Senior and a Manger at the same time due to shortage in PA. Im at a midtier and a lot of my jobs don’t have Seniors and Partners don’t want to delay these jobs.

Anyone NOT hate audit?? I seem to exclusively see people complaining that its the worst job ever, but I think its pretty good. Varied work, varied people/locations, and after the first like 5 months there's minimal boring ticking and bashing.

😭😭 when you ponder why you got into audit after working from 7 am to 10 pm on a Sunday. If we needed to work this much, wouldn’t it be better to go into investment banking, where they pay is better?
