Hey everyone. I am not an ADHD consultant, but mom to a 6 year old who is very likely ADHD (we will be starting the diagnosis process soon). I wanted to hear from anyone who was also diagnosed as a young kid on any advice you have for me? Knowing what you do now, would you recommend meds for a 6 year old (if it comes to that)? What other solutions/therapies can I use with my kid? Please, any advice is welcome!
I recently had my first baby and I’m trying to be as practical as possible, I did not get a bunch of baby stuff I just got the essentials, I think they sell you too much unnecessary things. I do appreciate people showing affection with gifts but feel kids now a day are over gifted. Would it be taken wrong if I suggest that for birthdays and Christmas instead of toys people deposit whatever they were going to spend in my baby’s 529 account?
Can I resign immediately after maternity leave due to medical reasons? Will they waive off notice period in lieu of base payment?
I work in a smaller town with less than 10,000 people and I just found out my shift schedule will be changing, and at least three days a week I'm working my kid's school drop-off time in the morning. Do you think it would be unprofessional to request that I run home in the morning, grab my kids and quickly drop them off at school or ask about making other tweaks to my schedule?
I have a governmental entity client in Texas that wants to offer 6 weeks of paid parental leave for all employees, even those who aren’t eligible for FMLA. After the paid 6 weeks, the employee can choose to continue paid leave using any accrued personal leave.
Texas does not have a paid parental leave statute.
If paid leave above what is required is offered for parents, do we also have to provide the same benefit to other employees that are eligible for unpaid leave?

My Director just took my deck (which I spent the last 3 weeks on), did very VERY minor changes.. and pasted her name on the intro page. There was no name initially, because I was the only person working on this. So now it was just her name, NO MENTION OF ME! And she went ahead and presented to our VP, after telling me that she's gonna do that.
I am SO FRUSTRATED! If you're here and reading this, may you get a crying baby next to you on every flight for the next year!
At what point do you tell your manager you are pregnant? Starting my 1st trimester and I’m struggling
My wife is 19 weeks pregnant and just caught the common cold. Was advised to not take Nyquil/Tyenol as not pregnancy safe and she already has lower immunity because of the baby. Should I be concerned? Is there any risk to pregnancy? Extremely worried. Was told to rest and wait it out.
Recommendations for business formal maternity clothes that won’t break the bank? I’ve looked at Motherhood and Target but everything looks so frumpy, and my client is quite formal. Seraphine has cute dresses but they’re very $$$. I feel like many retailers have pared back their maternity selection recently! TIA
I don’t want kids for numerous reasons (lack of freedom, long time commitment, emotionally unavailable, issues with communication, etc), but I really hope my brother has kids so I can be the cool uncle. I just want to spoil his kids and do fun things with them like once a month. Basically just get the fun parts of being a parent without the real responsibility
Due in August and planning to have my mother fly out to help with the baby and stay with us. She has been quarantining and is very careful but the flight is what concerns me. She lives far so driving isn’t an option and I really need the help. She plans to be careful but she’d be here with a newborn at the same time. Is it a bad idea?
How do you deal with the worry of having to provide for your family when your parent(s) are struggling to start a second career? I feel selfish & don’t even think they’d accept my help but I’m scared.
When hirings managers ask illegal or unethical questions that is not relevant to the job or skills needed for the role like...
How much are you making at current job
Are you pregnant or have any children
Do you have reliable daycare
Do you have reliable transportation
Do you have a criminal record
Have y'all experienced this?
I’ve a question, can we take parental leave in TSYS during probation or 1 week cl/el leave ?

When does morning sickness begin? With my first I started getting really nauseous around 6 weeks? I’m now approaching 8 and not really feeling much. Kind of nervous I’m losing the baby :(

Let's talk about maternity/parental leave. High salary with unpaid leave or appropriate/market salary with fully paid leave?
Anyone willing to share some best resources (books, podcasts, etc) for imposture syndrome? For awareness, I am a white women in HR. Always struggled with confidence but experienced some brutal/toxic management with my HR role with a bad business partner (now in a new role), and I am continuing to struggle with my confidence. Appreciate resources that are “self-help”. Also considering a therapist but hoping to also own the process myself for quicker “recovery”. TIA!
Moms, FTM here and don’t have any elders around for guidance due to covid restrictions. I am trying to figure out what all activities I can do with my baby so that I’m not missing anything important such as tummy time etc. what about other milestones I should be thinking about? I don’t get why even the most reputable financial news still try to attribute market moves to people. It’s not individual investors who are in control of day-to-day moves anymore, it’s algorithms.
Poll time, what’s the worst part of your day-to-day jobs? Personally, I’d rather mow Augusta National with a pair of scissors instead of compiling discovery responses.

How’s the big 4 job market in Miami metro area?..planning to request a transfer or apply to other big4/8
Soo what if I audited the company my brother works for, but didn't realize he worked there until after the audit was already over. For context, for the life of me I could never remember the name of the place he worked, and then my mom said it today and well.... it all clicked.
For those in audit, what is your favorite/useful technology used during the day (not including excel)? Curious what automation and visualization tools folks are embracing!
How are firms treating their employees during this time? Do you feel as if morale is low (excluding the fact we aren’t face to face with people daily)
I know my client needs an Accounting Manager. I know this because they’re startup med device company that has their books in complete shambles. The current accounting team isn’t very strong. How do I let the client know that I would be interested in joining them? They’re not actively recruiting for any position but I know they’d benefit from it. Serious responses only :)
Financial statement tie-out. Always thought this was a procedure done by Audit. Seeing more and more teams requiring management do it and IA test tie out as a control. What did I miss here? Thanks
Just going to leave this here

There was an October promotion freeze so I wasn't promoted to Senior and have no motivation to work. I'm interviewing with several companies and have money in the bank so I'm tempted to just put in my two weeks. Any motivation tips or advice?
Is it normal for Managers have to take on roles both as a Senior and a Manger at the same time due to shortage in PA. Im at a midtier and a lot of my jobs don’t have Seniors and Partners don’t want to delay these jobs.
Does anyone else have intense imposter syndrome and believe they’ll never move on from entry level positions? I’m trying to apply for new jobs and I have enough years of experience to qualify for a senior position but I’m scared to make that jump.
Can anyone provide some insight on what exit opportunities there are from audit? Is it better to wait until you are a certain rank to leave?
It's so quiet in the office today!.... I thought, as I worked from home 😜 love working in this season!
Anyone NOT hate audit?? I seem to exclusively see people complaining that its the worst job ever, but I think its pretty good. Varied work, varied people/locations, and after the first like 5 months there's minimal boring ticking and bashing.
😭😭 when you ponder why you got into audit after working from 7 am to 10 pm on a Sunday. If we needed to work this much, wouldn’t it be better to go into investment banking, where they pay is better?

One of my colleagues worked 3 day weeks because of her baby and still made manager after which she swapped to 4 day weeks. It's doable but you really need people to understand that part time means part time or else you'll just end up working full time hours at part time pay.
That’s encouraging to hear! That would be ideal for me. I don’t want to quit altogether because I don’t want to lose the opportunity to move up in PA. But I also want to be around for my baby as much as I can
I did 3 days a week as a manager. It was difficult to completely cut off from work on my days off when deadlines were nearing. I think it would be easier to do 4 or 5 days a week, but make them short days. It was well worth it to go PT and spend that time with my baby!
Unfortunately, I’m in a small city and all of our clients are small. Thanks for your input!
Doesn’t PwC have a program specifically for this?
That’s interesting, but no PwC in my city :(
