What is the salary range of Senior 2 at EY GDS?

I finished my final round(s) for a TAM position at Google (GCP) last week and was told by my recruiter that my feedback was great and that I made a solid impression on the team and am "firmly in the running". I was supposed to hear back this week (according to the recruiter) but he just told me that it's still in the process and that I'll have to wait for another week or so.
Is this common at Google ? I have heard they are notorious for being really slow with their hiring process.

You are entitled to your personal beliefs and you can certainly raise the issue with your supervisor. The fact that the company is overlooking this makes me think that the best case scenario is you will be moved to another business no baggage or issues. Worst case scenario, they can still move you but somewhere in the org they will remember this and potentially hold against you. I’m not getting down on you just being real.
There are a tremendous amount of big brands that have some sort of social issue that an individual might not personally support. You will need to be judicious if you dig deep into this for every client you touch.
I once knew someone who was assigned to a brand worked directly against her political beliefs. She saw it as an opportunity to be “on the inside of the other side” versus claiming a personal conflict or objection. I thought it was a very mature attitude to the situation.
You can personally choose to not frequent or purchase from this brand in your personal life. It is much more complicated when it is a business scenario. That’s not not say you shouldn’t voice your opposition. You can and you should. Just saying this may come down to separating personal from professional.
It’s a tough one when you work in advertising, but you have more power than you think at a media agency with the dollars controlled, you can do little (or big) things to offset the bad. It can be were you spend, where you don’t spend, what influencers you work with, what tentpoles you sponsor, you can put money into different places. You can also offset it by getting out and volunteering, think of it as offsetting the carbon footprint but instead of carbon footprint it’s morally bankrupt, greedy misogyny.
I think a lot of the time it depends on your agency, unfortunately. My agency forced vegetarians to work on a sausage brand even though they asked not to.
Also in the Groupe. I think it’s definitely worth pursuing being moved to a different brand, but to be honest your chances would be higher if it was a specific project relevant to the issue that you wanted to be moved off to. Ultimately this falls on what your manager will be okay with.
Unfortunately you can look up corporate donors & supporters for many many horrible things. Corporations suck and they like money and power and just want to be on the winning side (for either money, power, or PR reasons, often more than one) when it comes to these types of issues. Sometimes the ‘winning side’ is the morally just one, and sometimes it’s just the one with the most power & chance of coming out on top. A lot of people don’t realize that many corps donate to both Republicans & Democrats, and can donate to both conservative and progressive causes. Gotta cover your bases and maintain influence on both sides.
Unless you are also avoiding all the other corps that support movements to infringe on the rights of others, I don’t see this being a super strong argument to be moved off the brand.
But I hear you, I really do - I have had to work on a project with a subject that not only did I disagree with, but that questioned my own right to exist. I worked on post-production for a conservative Catholic podcast that repeatedly visited the topic of the legitimacy of gay and trans folks, and how they should or shouldn’t exist/whether they’re unnatural/if they should be punished in the eyes of god (guess which one they landed on). I am gay with a partner I love dearly. I quit that job because I felt not just that I couldn’t work any longer on that project (or listen to it), but that I could no longer stand to work at an agency (small enough that the owner was my direct manager & brought in most clients himself) that was willing to produce that content.
As an alternative, maybe consider instead donating to some causes that are fighting that fight in TX - that will likely make more of an impact in the lives of those affected than you moving off the brand & just being replaced by someone else in the machine.

Agency C-Suite gives no fecks about ethical quandaries, just the almighty $.
I’ve been put on a couple projects that I was morally objected to and was able to get myself off said projects. I went to my boss and was just like look, you know me, I’m a team player but you also know me and you know this goes against my beliefs. Thankfully I found support. I’m sure it doesn’t always work that way but if you have a good rapport with your boss, hopefully they’ll get it. I feel like when agencies have brands/clients that people could have sensitivities towards, there’s either an understanding or a tough shit approach though.
I know your situation is different as the brand supports that bs, rather than directly being a brand that is something you directly oppose. But I hope you’re able to get support on this. 💜
