I have a similar annoyance. Everyone assumes I’m underpaid along with them so when I talk about taking a pricy trip or something, they think I have parents helping when my parents didn’t even really help with school. I find it a bit ignorant and insulting.

And it’s a supply/demand and skill set issue. it’s as simple as that. ask your favorite recruiter about how many good resumes they get for every account position vs every analytics position.

Most people in analytics could easily make more in other industries to do the same math. Agencies know that and pay accordingly. I turned down a consulting offer because it was more, but not enough more to justify traveling 4 days/week

You don't ever have to answer what you make and it's crossing a line to for someone to push. If they somehow know, my answer would be, "feel free to pull a raw data report from one of the data platforms and let me know how it goes haha.

Unfortunately at my company we are pushing "comms marketing" so everyone thinks they're digital.. but agreed

it’s interesting - I was going to say that you can always not answer but. then remembered I’d been a similar situation.

I was bemoaning my lack of a promotion (and being subordinate to a number of VPs on the account side) and was told that I made more than all of them. (adding to the awkwardness, I was younger than all of them and had been at the agency far less time).

Most folks know that analytics people make way more than other departments, so next time you're in this situation just tell them that.

This will happen to you lots more times in your career, though. Learn some key phrases - 'I'm doing very well for myself right now', 'I'm very fortunate', one day you might be back in their shoes again.

I have joined IBM and resigned within 50 days.
Reason: project I was allocated not good and I initially rejected project but they forcefully moved to the project.I have asked multiple times to replace the project after that I have resigned.
Now manager is threatening me that I will be placed under no hire to IBM.
Is it ethical?

Working with vendor on behalf of client. Relations are terse between vendor/client. Vendor wears very casual biz clothes. Would you match style so vendor feel comfort or wear full suite/ tie?

Having some fun today. Rowing Blazers NATO on an old sub.

Has anyone left Edelman to work at Lewis? Considering making the agency move but wondering if it’s worth sticking Edelman out for 1-2 years then go in- house?

I want to make a short film. Is there a good book to read on script writing before diving in ?
