I am a business analysis manager that joined capital One from consulting earlier in 2021. As others have mentioned, responsibilities do vary by team but in general, BAs perform the decision making in the company. Most of the company’s executive leaders are from the BA team. The work is a blend of project management, strategy, operations and working cross functionally to get things done. I did not have FS experience before joining and believe I am doing well in the role.

Yup, I’m a business analyst. No complaints about my job, but position-to-position responsibilities vary widely. Some work as product managers, some do strategy work and some do credit analysis. Being a business analyst gives you lots of flexibility to switch around and develop new skills.

Any advice to anyone who feels stuck in there day to day, in there career growth/life growth? I feel like I'm consistently spinning my tires in mud and not really getting anywhere. Feel like my mental health has just been tanking due to this, that I'm not building up to something bigger. Grateful to have a stable job, okay income, and my health. Has anyone ever cheated at work? Like I’m on a engagement, I’m super burnt out from working all weekend and at night, hate my firm and I’m currently interviewing at other places. I’m on a project that is so poorly managed and understaffed with miserable people. I’ve been cheating my mundane routine assignments, like barely even looking at the assignments before sending them off.
